Pot holes happen. In a perfect world they’d get repaired within hours of being reported. In a terrible world they never repair any in any timeframe. It’s all about the time frame.
News today: Woman makes legal claim against council, dislikes receiving legally-worded response.
They were quoting a ruling by the Court of Appeal and, besides that, it’s a true enough quote anyway.
Now if the pothole was in Gaza, they would have a bit more interest.
I have family in Austria, my cousin in Villach has an app, if you spot a pothole, damaged kerb or pavement, you take a picture using the app and it gets fixed within a few days.
Here we get, “deal with it”…
They are a fact of life but they really don’t have to be, I recall watching a video from an engineering company that developed a road surface that is perfectly capable of allowing water to drain through it thus preventing potholes. The only reason we don’t do it is because the upfront cost is more than just repairs as it requires a full road uplift and replacement. However, the long term saving would make it well worth it, we could have started installing these 5 plus years ago.
