  4. If anyone else expressed concerns, I’d be interested to hear them. But Paddy Jackson and his mates?  I hope they get used to people just going on ahead not giving a thought to whether they consented or not. And then joke about it after.

    The TV show, obviously.

Article is paywalled but one would think that if the director who is “driving” this really wanted the focus to be on the victim in this case they would have made a fictitious version sans Paddy – this way they’re just trying to drum up extra publicity around their project by including his name. 

    Not a rugby fan and this isn’t some backhanded way of trying to defend Jackson, the whole thing on first impression just feels like it’s a little too much on the nose – like it doesn’t quite add up unless the goal is simply to sensationalise this in an effort to get Netflix et al to pick up the tab. The real focus of reviewing this case should be how the DPP arrived at the decision to go to trial given the minuscule chance of actually getting a conviction.

  7. Anyone who has any part of the making of this is a scumbag and a creep. Anyone who watches it is a scumbag and creepy also. Horrible inditement of our “culture”. Land of the scholar my hole. Were more a land of Love Island and this creepy type of crap.

  18. Yikes. I don’t like the thought of a tv show about such recent crime. Can’t people just read newspaper archives? Hits me as exploitative and prurient, and mostly the latter.
