    that’s like Germany having **2300 deaths on a day**, double the worse day last winter

    plus at this point many old people in villages are dying at homes, undercounted

    and people who are dying now are the ones who got infected 2 weeks ago,when there were fewer cases

    and we are still in Oktober……

  6. Romania has only 20% of the over 80s vaccinated. 20%.

    For mortality rates it does not matter exactly how much total population is vaccinated, the elderly are so much more vulnerable, if you totally vaccinate the elderly death rates decrease a lot.

    Romania´s rates of 20% only vaccination among the elderly is amazingly bad.

  13. Gonna be an exciting winter season in Romania! But on the plus side you’re gonna get rid of a large portion of stupid people in your country – so you’ve got that going for you which is nice.

    In recent news in Denmark, several scientists have done a lot of calculations on what’s going to happen and the message is clear: if you’re not vaccinated, you’re gonna get Corona this winter. Delta-variant is crazy yo’.

    Let’s look at the good news. Did you know that Romania is the 4th largest plum producer in the world? Also the 5th largest sunflower seeds producer?

  19. It’s sad, but covid has a way of fixing this problem at some point by itself really.

    In Poland we had at one point 650 average daily deaths, with two waves like that. Now we are climbing back up from 5 average to 35 average within one week, and it doesn’t look like government or the people want to do anything about it. People are not wearing masks in shops and public transpot, went back to work in office.

    Only 51% of people are vaccinated fully (50% 1st dose, and you can see we are flattening out at that point). This winter it’s gonna be a shit show again. But as I said, covid problem fixes itself, not without unnecessary casualties, but it does.

    So, vaccinate yourself (take the 3rd dose if you can too), and stay safe. Let the rest of people be idiots if that’s what they want.

I did not trust my Romanian friends about Russian implication in the info war and propaganda on the Romanian social networks until they sent me a couple of links that Russian-owned media are promoting.     It is in Romanian but you can easily use Google Translate. They also promote a post from Facebook in which the OP falsely claims that the European Agency downplays the number of side-effects and deaths inflicted by those in the process.

    There are Russian-sponsored agencies that are delivering anti-vax flyers in Northern Moldova as there are anti-vax parties like AUR.

    In the end, Russia does not wish for a strong Romania because they don’t want EU and NATO to have a reliable partner at the crossroads between Central, Balkan and Eastern powers. Moreover, the Romanian influence over the Black Sea and the Balkans has to be reduced in their vision (*Erdogan smiles*). Lastly, Romanian economy has been accelerating in the past decade, which will be an incentive for Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus and it will grip the Russian influence over them.

    Lack of trust in the government and anti-vax propaganda are the culprits here. I have been vaccinated but that does not mean I know what’s in the vaccine, I just did it because I trust the people around me, it’s all about mentality rather than knowledge.

    I’m pretty sure that Romania, given its history of turmoils, is a pretty strong state and it will get over this, proving again that it is an oasis of stability in the region.
