‘SNP faces point of difficulty’

the police investigation continues to loom over your party the polls are not exactly spelling a good path ahead in terms of the general election why now well the reason is because I think the S&P faces a point of difficulty and as someone who’s devoted their adult life to nurturing and growing the SNP I feel it’s my duty to step forward not to walk on by step forward and give my party the leadership that it needs at this acute moment of difficulty do you have the support of Nicholas sturgeon I I I not presuming the support of anybody have you had a conversation with him I’m not assuming the support of anybody and I’m not going to go through all the conver I’ve had conversations with loads of people about the prospects of me becoming ASP leader what’s important is that I’m offering myself to give the party the roote forward that I think it requires

Speaking to Sky’s Connor Gillies, SNP veteran John Swinney refused to be drawn on whether his bid had the support of former SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon.

Mr Swinney has launched his leadership bid after Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf announced his resignation earlier this week
