Japan town begins blocking Mount Fuji view from tourists • FRANCE 24 English
Mount Fuji an emblematic symbol of Japan and major tourist attraction this Viewpoint where the Majestic and active volcano appears behind the lawon convenience store is particularly popular but soon it won’t be possible to catch a snap of the snowy Peak from here in this small town authorities exacerbated by crowds of badly behav foreign tourists are installing barriers and Nets to block the view of Mount Fuji so I can see why from people who live and work here why they might want to do something about that just so to serve tourists a little bit I noticed today that Mount Fuji is not even in the view and people are still taking pictures probably not the best solution one solution certainly but not the best one they’re overcrowding the nearby cities but also the hills of the iconic Mountain more than 200,000 visitors hiked up last year day or night the mountain is constantly busy and for local authorities this could even lead the safety hazards if lots of people gather up there it could get very overcrowded people could fall and might get seriously hurt it’s very worrying 3 million people visited the country in March alone this year in Kyoto locals have complained of snap happy tourists harassing the city’s immaculately dressed GES guards are now roaming the streets and are even considering closing down some parts of the city to foreigners measures that could hurt local businesses our income comes from foreign tourists and if there aren’t as many foreigners a revenue could drop in a bit to fight overcrowding Japan is now introducing aack on tourism to Mount Fuji
Work has begun in a small Japanese town to erect a barrier blocking views of the country’s most famous sight, Mount Fuji, after locals complained of bad behaviour by photo-hungry tourists. Fujikawaguchiko town began building panels of mesh netting at a spot where unending flows of mostly foreign tourists visit daily to take photos of the majestic mountain sitting behind a Lawson convenience store.

Is America a colony of Israel?
Stupid !.
Something ironic about an Asian country complaining that people are ‘snap happy’ with their camera’s.
Japan is under American military occupation
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I used to do my shopping in Stratford-upon-Avon. I would hate seeing a Japanese tour group following their flag around the town. They may behave themselves in their own country, but they lost their veneer of politeness abroad. It's ironic that they complain of badly behaved foreigners when, here in England, they were loud, pushy, would block pavements, and were generally not pleasant. These days that role appears to have been taken by Chinese tourists.
I do understand the current anti tourism around the world. Stratford-upon-Avon was a charming market town where going shopping on a Saturday was a pleasure. Now, the majority of shops that once served the locals have been replaced by tourist tat. The locals are forced into a charmless out of town centre, or, like myself, have decided to shop elsewhere.
Tourism is both a blight and a benefit. It needs to be controlled, but this wave of anti-tourist behaviour around the world may have effects that countries or towns may eventually regret.
0:21 "Authorities are exacerbated…"
Do you mean exasperated?
The poor people living there are having their lives constantly disrupted by flocks of tourists. It is an exasperating situation, indeed! Blocking the view from the village is a mild start to protecting people's lifestyles. I foresee a harsher crackdown in the future, though.
God bless them. Never change Japan. Except the bad stuff
Be cheaper just to encourage bears
What is this cool mountain? Makes me want to go check it out
Xenophobic country

Who the hell goes to Japan anyways
Hiroshi Yoshida, a professor at Tohoku University in Japan, pointed out that if the current trend continues, the country may not only have "only one minor child left" by 2720, but may also become "the first country to become extinct due to low birthrate."
Professor Yoshida Hiroshi, director of the Center for Economic and Social Research on Aging at Tohoku University, updated the 2024 version of the child population clock on April 22, pointing out that the birth rate decline is accelerating, more than 100 years earlier than the 2023 estimate.
That Lawson convenient store just lost a quarter of its property value.
1:31 They also forgot to include Chinese translations. That's why Chinese tourists can't understand those warning posts in every streets of tourist places in Japan.
As someone who loves Japan and loves spending time there and respects it, there’s nothing I dislike more than other tourists. What is wrong with you people? Japan is great because it’s filled with people that aren’t you. You aren’t even interested in immersing yourself. You just want the flashy photos for your social media. Please go away.
