Football in Latvia is generally low quality. If we compare it to UK leagues it is probably somewhere on League 2 level if not lower. But if L2 matches probably easily will gather couple of thousands of spectators than in Virsliga (name of the league) couple of hundreds is a very good result. Currently top clubs are Riga FC and RFS, it is like Man City and Liverpool for the last couple of seasons, your club (Spartaks) is more like Everton (pretty bad this season tho) maybe West Ham (they are pretty good this season), basically Everton or West Ham for the past couple of years, you know what I mean. Personally, I don’t follow our league closely, I doubt that I will name even 5 players, that’s how bad it is lol and I probably attended game only once (they charge money for this hahaha, should be free). From FM perspective it will be a tough challenge, of course depending on your goals.
If you as manager will be able to convince our population to like soccer, hats off to you!
