  1. I like how our emblem contains the symbols of the 4 main maritime republics: Venezia, Genova, Amalfi e Pisa.

    Pretty cool.

  2. I think Russia wins this one. I imagine the Royal Navy used to have something a bit more traditional but changed somewhat recently although I couldnt find any details on google

  3. The motto on the Greek Navy emblem says: Μέγα το της θαλάσσης κράτος, which means: Great is the might of the sea, or according to others: Great is the nation that rules the sea.

  4. I like how the british one basically says “Yeah we are the UK, but we all know england is the one who is calling the shots”

  5. 1st place for Germany.

no colors, no art, no royal insignia, just the brute force of their language

    MARINE 😂

  6. What’s Portugal up to putting an actual sea creature in it’s naval emblem?

Don’t they know eagle and lion beat fish at sea?

  7. As many have already pointed out, the Italian Navy contains the emblems of the four maritime republics. The same logo is used by the commercial and civilian fleet, albeit with one minor difference: the Venetian lion of St. Mark is represented with an open book (with the Latin inscription ‘*pax tibi marce evangelista meus*’ – a message of peace) in the case of the commercial and civilian fleet, whereas the Navy displays the same Lion with a paw resting on the closed book.

  8. Everyone’s got beautiful emblems. Meanwhile, Bulgaria: “We’ll just retouch the flag a lil bit”

  9. Iceland does not have any military and definitely no navy. That’s the emblem of the Icelandic coastguard.
