Xavi doesn’t see Vitor Roque as a strong option for the Starting XI or even as an obvious backup option — he feels Roque has to meet the club and decide. @MatteMoretto

  1. Fire Deco

Being the sports director he should bring the players the manager wants not the players he would earn commission from

  2. Absolutely horrible management by the club. We buy a player for 30M that the manager doesn’t even want.

  3. Why are we listening to a manager that wanted to abandon the club? All because he felt he wasn’t good enough. We can’t let him decide our future, he only here for one more season. I don’t he should have any say on our signings or squad building.

  4. I’ve never explicitly been in the #Xaviout camp, but this kind of treatment of a player seriously concerns me. Roque is by any metrics tipped to be a top player in the Selecao, and it is troubling that the manager can’t make use of that. Barcelona has plenty of attackers that aren’t delivering in good numbers, so what is actually placing him so far behind?

If I may be so provocative, does anyone here doubt that the likes of Ancelotti wouldn’t be able to get 15-20 goals per season out of a player of this calibre?

  5. The bigger picture here is that we are putting ourselves in a position where there will be more outcomes like the Guller one. Talents (especially from abroad) will have options and ultimately pass on us when their agents use the Roque situation as an instance of what can very well happen. Or even our guys, Ansu and Pedri on the “they will take care of your progression”

  6. That’s a Deco fuck up, if the player isn’t good then he isn’t good. Xavi watches him the training, this kinda reminds me of Puig in a way. We all liked him and thought Koeman just hated him for no reason, but then he turned out he was indeed not that good.
