BREAKING: RU Launches Surprise Attack Toward Kharkiv!

breaking news guys a couple of hours ago Russian forces invaded Ukraine from the northern front no it is not 2022 it is May 10th 2024 but this is the first time we’ve seen Russian forces attempt to open a new front in the Ukraine conflict let’s talk about what they are doing and where so the two regions that Ukraine is identified as having had significant Russian military activity Russian incur are both noreast of har now we’ve heard from other sources that Russia Was preparing to try to take harke as part of their big summer offensive but what’s sort of bizarre is the two regions where fighting seems to be happening the first is here near sta near towards um boriska and then fighting near plenka and this is sort of a head scratcher for a couple of reasons and do some terrain analysis with me so you can see here is the River and it looks like it forms a very large lake uh right here right along the Russian Ukrainian border and then there it’s damned up and this is a flat land a former riverbed with a small river running through it right and you notice here that west of the river the terrain is hilly it is forested it is extremely defensible terrain and so Russia in choosing where they want to invade has invaded due east of this very difficult obstacle right when we zoom out you can see they’ve literally put this River and Hillside giant just a formation of really really tough Hills between them and harke and even if they are successful and push all the way to this edge of this River the southern tip of the of the lake they are still going to have to assault up a hill to get to harke and it’s sort of bizarre too because there this front does not have a lot of roadways you can see that while there’s uh Hoka uh and some of these other towns right there’s only really one road that runs out of this region and it runs again south right through this flat land here so if they did somehow succeed in their incursion they’re going to be in an absolute Shooting Gallery for Ukrainian artillery and Ukrainian troops so this is a I don’t really understand how this is going to help them take harke uh especially given the fact we know the Russian military one of their biggest vulnerabilities is their ability to cross open ground rapidly that’s where they incur the most casualties so it seems like they would almost want to uh engage in a peacemeal fight in very difficult forested terrain working their way south towards harke and then when we go further east it becomes even more bizarre you can see this plenka they’re pushing likely towards this vens which which is a fairly large town probably I’d say maybe a bit smaller than bachet uh but they are placing between them and their objective of harke this entire river system again the detet river and you can see that the further south you go the more difficult this obstacle becomes eventually widening to the point where it’s virtually a lake and even if they were to successfully make it to vunk uh they’re going to have a very limited set of roadways and ultimately they’re going to be constrained by this detet River and what’s even more strange is that if they achieved a big breakthrough they’re not going to encircle UK Ukrainian troops right Ukrainian troops are going to remain here on the front line easily resupplied through this kopans they’re miles away from being able to uh you know pressure any of these troops in this line here instead they’ve just simply they seem to be boxing themselves in it’s really a struggle for me to understand again unless their goal is to is not to get to harke but to Simply take the maximum total area of terrain and not really worry about achieving like tactical or operational objectives right because because you know it probably will be if they can break south of this arke line This is open terrain there’s not a lot here so on a map they may appear to liberate a lot of terrain right if they can take lonsky uh there’s there’s nothing else here that’s worth defending and the ukrainians are unlikely to choose to defend it so it may be a case of Russia is simply trying to get the maximum total volume but again this is really short-term thinking for a military that’s relying on a long-term attritional strategy when we look over at the combat map you can see that there’s dozens of uh assaults happening across this line here and but but there’s only really one that seems to be happening at this M20 Highway that’s west of the har Lake everything else is to the east right again sort of deliberately boxing themselves in and deliberately putting huge really tough obstacles between them and Har you can see again very narrow roadways very difficult to navigate would be very easy for Ukraine to cut them off and you can see also here this makes more Stark that there’s two rivers that you you Russia is again pushing into this area between two major water obstacles I’m just like do they not care it’s really hard for me to understand why why they think this is going to happen and you can see here right here’s EV chonk uh Ukrainian forces conducting an evacuation but they are able to by some reports are repelling Russian attacks near plonka but you see here even if they were Russian forces are going to have quite a time driving through trying to take this vonk it’s really um difficult to understand what their objectives are they may this may not be a large scale opening of another front it may be a deception and they may actually just be trying to disrupt the freedom of Russia Legions operations um this may be just to try to stop those incursions that we’ve been seeing from them into belad we we’ve seen of course uh several months ago the freedom of Russia Legion hitting uh Shino and other regions um so this may be more of a localized defensive but it still is just very bizarre if indeed their objective is the AR region I’m going to keep you guys posted and updated as this situation develops but   6. Could there be oil under that or something? Maybe the area they're trying to take. Has minerals in the ground even if it's not a city or something

  8. Maybe they calculate it will take longer for foren aid to reach that area. Hoping to get a bunch of territory and dig in to out last the aid.

  10. It could be plan to sacrified units .. i think they attack .. on north.. they put there maybe 50 000 soldiers on RuSSian teritories and if Ukrajine use western weaponts again this units in RuSSian teritories it could be .. consider like.. western is part this war ..

  11. Maybe it is to fuel Russian trolls – who are the most successful part of the special operation. We have to give credit where due – Russian trolls have a 13:1 success ratio over Ukrainian trolls so they play to their strengths.

They're probably going to blow the dam over time, the troops to the east are probably going to go for a push north west and cut out a chunk of territory while restricting the Ukrainians supply line. You have to remember the Russians war machine is basically endless so they only thing they need is a foothold to cause trouble while the Ukrainians position on the front can fluxuate depending on the type of support they can get. the only thing russia needs to do is keep throwing meat at the grinder and Russias got a hell of a lot more meat to throw than Ukraine.

  18. I am absolutely for Ukraine. I have been hearing how dumb Russians are for the last two years, how incapable, how lousy, etc. The fact is, it does not matter. They are winning. Whatever calculus they are using, however mysterious, on the whole, and for all it's faults, is working. Russia is winning. And unless something very big changes like NATO troops inside Ukraine, they will win.

  20. try to imagine that what ever you know about warfare and the landscape there the russians know better. what if they do not even intend to go very far, and instead use those two big water-obstacles. i think the russians are smart enough to know that large open fields are dangerous to cross. these two long lakes are also an obstacle for the ukrainians when they have to give up positions in the east and will try to move west. so the russians have the possibility to direct the withdrawing forces, because they will not really be able to corss these lakes, but will have to walk around them. so what ever military force is left to the east of those two lakes is already in deep sh*t. they just don`t know it yet. ukrainian military leaders are not really the brightest candles on the ukrainian x-mas tree. they make the same mistakes over and over again. the ukrainians face the same problem with large open fields they have to cross when being pushed westwards. until then the russians will have a couple positions ready to go, plus they have air superiority. the ukrainians are running out of options. every loss of a tank, a gun, some men etc. hurts more and more. russia on the other hand has escalatory dominance, air superiority, more men, more tanks, better intel and so on. what sense does it make to fight a war that you can`t win? all these men, dead. all these villages, destroyed. the infrastructure, severely damaged…and what for? so that a few western criminals can make a few dollars more? so that a few ukrainian criminals can make a few dollars more? and who is the assh*le in this equation? right, as always, the normal citizen. ukraine as a country doesn`t really exist anymore. so much debt, so much stuff destroyed and damaged. the ukrainians will be slaves for the foreseeable future, but only the ones left in what will still be called ukraine. they will work for less than a minimum wage to serve american interests…and all this is self-inflicted. they could have had a quite prosperous nation, if it wasn`t for the american and british fascists and criminals…they could have profited from both sides, but they chose selfdestuction…bravo

  28. maybe they want that empty terrain simply because it is closer to the city. At the moment they can hit the city outskirts only with rockets and glide bombs and very special artillery. From the end of the lake they are 10km closer to the city centre an only about 20km from the first buildings. From there they can give fire support with cheap simple artillery.

  30. What if Kharkiv is a decoy? What if what they are trying to do is take the Donets River and encircle forces in Eastern Kharkiv Oblast?

    Publicly to the Russian people, they said they would establish a "Buffer Zone" between Ukraine and Belgorod. So that may be the thing, take 15-20KM along the border.

  31. in both cases they are putting really hard natural defenses on their right flank… Probably that is not co-incidence rather by design. Also I notice , if ukraine really wants to defend those worthless land mass, they have to push supply and force through a narrow gap upto that boarder are. Is it possible Russi are baiting on that where they can create casualties with long distance strikes and fabs. May be this whole thing is that russian muskarivka thing.

  33. Idk if u are unaware man but this was far away from being a surprise.Russia literally bombing the region 10 days now,they are planning this about a year now.If anything you should stop the clickbaiting,the entire Europe knows,months now.
