  1. Good for him. He doesn’t need to wade into his dad’s bullshit.

  2. Smart move to create distance from his radioactive father.

  3. At least someone appears to have a functional brain in the family.

  4. Make your own way, make your own life.

But also what a show of how the family isn’t really backing the patriarch.

  5. He didn’t want to support the guy who was cheating on his mom with a porn star while she was breast feeding him?

    Why not?

  6. So did they make him a delegate without his consent or were the earlier articles just speculation? It seemed like it was a done deal.

  7. I don’t know this kid anymore than his dad doesn’t, but I hope this isn’t just a media play where he accepts later…

  8. I wonder if Trump can resist trashing him in public, there’s no way he will not take it as an insult and lash out like he always does.

  9. Who the hell talks about their kid like this?

“The presumptive Republican presidential nominee on Friday praised Barron Trump in a radio interview and said his 18-year-old son sometimes offers him political advice.

He’s a great guy. He’s a little on the tall side, I will tell you. He’s a tall one. But he’s a good looking guy, and he’s really been a great student and he does like politics. It’s sort of funny, he’ll tell me sometimes, ‘Dad, this is what you have to do,’” Donald Trump said in the radio interview with Kayal and Company.

He continued, ‘So anyway, he’s a good guy. He’s a senior now in high school and he’ll be going to college. And you know a lot of these choices of colleges are changing because you see what’s going on in the last month, Biden has totally lost control of the country.”

  10. What kid wants to be instantly hated by half the population of the U.S. by jumping on his dad’s coat tails?
    Good for him.

  11. Didn’t realize one could be handed a delegate position without requesting or wanting it? Even an “at large”. At any rate, shows good sense to refuse.

  12. Something tells me he might be the black sheep of the Trump family in that he might actually have a soul he didnt sell-yet that is. We will see.

  13. If he turns out to be the opposite of everything his dad stands for. That would make the world a little better of a place.

  14. I don’t know what’s going on with this kid, or what he’s like in real life. But it would be nice if *at least one* of Trump’s brood could come out halfway normal and well adjusted. I think spending most of his life being ignored by Trump and being raised by his, albeit terrible, mother is the best thing that could have happened to him.

Of course, me may very well turn out to be another genetic stain like the rest of his family. Only time will tell, I guess.

  15. As much as I dislike that family, this kid really has tried to keep away from all the BS. His entire life is going to be marred as that orange man’s son.

  16. I can’t wait for the divorce papers during the RNC.

  17. “Apparently there is a height restriction. I’m too tall. Go figure.” – soon

  18. “I won’t join you. I’m a democrat, like my father before me”

Then we find out Donald isn’t his father

  19. The only thing that worries me is that the maga cult will decide he’s betrayed his father somehow and put a target on his back.

  20. Calling it now. In like 10-15 years Barron will run as a democrat.

  21. In every photo of that teenager, I can’t find a trace of happiness or even basic contentment I feel sorry for him.

  22. Once Baron goes on a national stage like that he’s no longer protected. At least mom has better sense than dad to stop it.

  23. I have an odd respect for him and Melania for atleast showing she’s a decent mother to him and trying to protect him from this awful road Trumps led his entire family down

  24. Would be cool to see him pull a reverse card on the family and be a liberal champion as he gets older.

  25. Chances are Barron didn’t even know he was going to be a delegate until it was announced on the news.
