  1. “We condemn the human rights violations by the state of Israel. Moreover, the state of Israel destroys press freedom.” This should be the title but I guess people are too soft to hear about it.

  2. Miss the time when the biggest controversy in Eurovision was Italian broken sun.

  3. I don’t give a damn’ about Eurovision. Never have, and never will. But I’m having a blast this year. I’m laughing my ass off about Joost fucking up that whole circus. Love it.

    Thanks, Joost!

    WELKOM IN EUROPA, JONGUH!

  4. They also turned off the comments on Eurovision Instagram because everyone said ‘Free Joost’.

  5. If it was just european countries we wouldn’t have to deal with this mess, just saying xD I am not taking sides and I wouldn’t have to if it was only european nations. Russia Azerbaijan Armenia Israel and Australia can start their song contest xD

  6. Moroccanoil is an Israeli company and main sponsor of this very expensive show so…we’ll, a shame. Certainly not a fair show anymore, Israel should have never been allowed to participate this year, but once again, money.

  7. Classic Dutch directness.

No sorry we need to be diplomatic and make sure nobody’s offended because we are all important and we can’t upset our sponsors while..

    Dutch: hey you. Talk straight.

  8. They had one year to fix voting. They did not.

They had half year to decide to ban certain country. They did not.

They had half a day to be transparent about Netherland contestant situation and Israel delegation erratic behauvior accusations. They went silent.

They had half year to make up a strategy for events such as live audience booing.

This they did, they remove it and use canned applause.

  9. What happened to ”believe all women”? Oh wait, it doesn’t matter, free him because he’s anti Israel so it’s okay harassing and threatening women.

  10. What a turnaround in feeling from only a few years ago where everyone was united in supporting Ukraine and it felt uplifting and wholesome.

They’ve shot themselves in the foot with how they’ve handled this. So much ill will which they’ll struggle to shake for years to come

  11. Tonight I’ll watch the Eurovision and try to catch some boreal lights in the sky in Southern France, while the parts of the world not in fire are under floodings. We all know this is chaos, don’t push it

  12. yet he still thought it’s fine to make a feature with russians right after full scale invasion

  13. Why are all the comments here about Israel? What does Israel got to do with Joost?

  14. Israel bots on tiktok and Twitter have started a smearing campaign against Joost and Marina for their reactions. There are videos of Israel delegation bullying the Dutch, as well. I guess the Israeli companies that are giga-sponsors want to really promote their motherland. Don’t be surprised if Israel wins… randomly today.

edit: The downvotes have started, so I guess they are here too of course. Go on guys, try to imitate some other country.

  15. Probably the main sponsor “Moroccanoil” from Israel has too much influence here.

  16. r/Eurovision is flipping the shits about Israel being in but is fine with excusing Joost assaulting someone.

  17. Organisers had this coming. Painting any big show apolitical while clearly taking sides not gonna hold well.

  18. >The Eurovision Song Contest has been thrown into chaos after an act was reportedly axed from the show just hours ahead of the live final.

    >The Netherlands’ representative for the Eurovision Song Contest missed Friday’s dress rehearsal as organisers investigated an “incident” involving the performer.

    >Dutch singer Joost Klein was set to sing his entry during the show on Friday night May 10, but an announcement was made to the live crowd that Klein would not appear.

    >The announcement was met with a chorus of boos and jeers from the audience within the arena.

    >A spokesperson for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has said: “We are currently investigating an incident that was reported to us involving the Dutch artist. He will not be rehearsing until further notice”.

    >With the show due to air in just 15 hours, there has yet to be word as to whether the Netherlands would be allowed to compete or as to what the “incident” involved.

  19. Bound to happen when half the world is in flames and we’re singing and dancing…

  20. Me wondering what’s going on and being met with the Hitler convention in the comments. From what I can read this has nothing to do with his comments to Eden Golan, he has been accused of threatening a person working at Malmö Arena. Nothing has yet been decided whether he is going to be disqualified or not but I guess it mostly comes down to the prosecutor if they are pressing charges or not.

  21. He should do a concert in Gaza and take all Pro Palestina protestors with him. Will be fun!
