Denies the space to other parties. Bit petty though, not considered ‘fair play’
They only had a few left and wanted to go for a pint.
Increasing their signal to noise ratio.
Research shows that posters do make a difference.
Places here that have tried no posters, had lower turnouts.
Presume they had a quota as to how many to put up and the lads wanted to hit the pub
They’re putting in the labour
The most annoying thing about this is how crooked they’re put up
Well I never heard his name before you posted this so his tactics worked 🤣
Fine them. It’s an eyesore.
We need to be more like the French in this regard.
At this point…it’s just a teams pissing content. None of the posters say when the elections, plural, are. None of the posters actually clearly distinguish which election the candidates are actually running for, and those are under the guise of poster reusability but staples and smaller pieces of card… exist.
Up until now I was all for keeping election posters to a point, because not everyone has the internet (for whatever reason) but these are just picture cards and you still have to go get the information yourself. Even the bumpf coming in the door, isn’t from everyone and again, doesn’t clearly enough communicate what fucking election some are running in.
Assume they get the same dopamine hit as people who spray paint “Evoke” or write their Covid conspiracy theory hot take on public property.
Sure would be interesting if election posters were banned.
It’s amazing how you can always spot the FGer in a line up. The big blue shirt head on them.
I absolutely hate these things going up all over the place. I just wish they were banned completely.
Do the posters not have to be at a certain height or is that only for lampposts
Mandy wins….. more posters than the other losers… congrats to our new overlord Landy
🤴🏼
Incredibly subtle psychological manipulation, implying that he is twice as good as Burke and 4 times better than Keogh.
Or it’s just laziness and the lads wanted to get to the pub.
I was thinking of voting for Aisling but now I’ll go for Fergal.
The scrum half is getting my vote anyways.
I’ll vote for Corinthians
Didn’t know Corinthians were putting forward a few candidates.
Yeah, how dare the locals wish Galway Corinthians RFC the best of luck!
Completely agree
Corinthians are either going to win or they’re not
Don’t blame me, I voted for kodos
Desperation?
I much prefer the posters with goggly eyes. Whatever mad lad went about the country adding the goggly eyes really made it fun, and didn’t matter what party they represented he got a few of each. Even if there are a bunch in a row like this, it would improve the ambience
Here in France posters are only authorised outside polling stations as far as I know. A few weeks before an election, boards are put up, one for each candidate and that’s it.
You get a few posters pasted onto walks but it’s not that common. It should be like that in Ireland.
Someone is trying to out landy burke
What’s the point in putting any of them up in the first place? People being swayed by an eyesore poster are just as likely to be swayed by the spelling of names on the ballot or simply whichever party they’ve always voted for
I know, Galway Corinthians haven’t got a chance. Waste of time if you ask me.
Who cares it’s such a load of bollix.. Full stop
What were your eyes drawn to first? Landy or the others?
Hope this gets recycled
Well look, if you are undecided after the first three Landys you might catch the fourth one, at which point you will say “well that settles it. I know nothing about Landy, his character or his policies but after seeing four Landys he is getting my #1 vote”.
My theory is that the people putting up the posters are just paid to put up x number of posters. They don’t care about the candidate and this is the quickest way of getting the posters up.
Don’t ask me, waste of money putting so much money into rugby when we could put it into cycling, athletics, gymnastics, or swimming, or near anything else.
