White House warns of large-scale Russian offensive against Ukraine’s Kharkiv

1. >The White House said Russian forces may be preparing to mount a large-scale counteroffensive against the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv after making incremental incursions in the area and opening a new war front near Ukraine’s second-largest city.

   >”You’re not going to do that if you’re not also thinking about some other larger assault directly on the city,” National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said Friday during a press briefing.

   “Counteroffensive” even when on “a new front” – this term really stopped to have any meaning in this war, similar to “human waves” and such before. Every offensive will be a “counteroffensive” from now on, just like every 10-men assault group (conventionally a basic assault should be at minimum platoon sized, that is about 30 guys) is a “human wave”.

   Kirby also talks about some planned weapons deliveries.

4. The last major Ruzzian offensive captured a single suburb of Donetzk which was already on the front since 2014 and had been bombarded and destroyed for at least 2 years prior. And they only got it with huge losses of their own and bc Ukraine ran out of ammo and men. What makes them think a city of 2 million people is a good target? They won’t capture it, that’s just a stupid plan
