The police statement from the Thames Valley Police website:
> “A man in his sixties suffered a stab wound at an address in School Close, Downley, at around 6pm yesterday (10/5). Police officers attended and one was shot in the leg with a crossbow. He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged. Our thoughts are with the injured officer and we are doing everything to support him and his colleagues, as well as all others affected by the incident within the force. The assault victim has also been taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Our thoughts are with him as well. A 54-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has also been taken to hospital under police supervision with potentially life-changing injuries having been shot by an armed police officer during the incident. We are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident at this time. There is a large police presence in the area as a result but there is no ongoing threat to the wider public. Anyone with concerns should speak to a uniformed police officer. A large police cordon is in place so please avoid the area as best you can. I’d ask the public to avoid speculating about the incident and sharing footage on social media; instead send it to us via our website. We have also made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.”
Expect the full force of the law to deal with the perpetrator.
If it was you or I then not such a big deal I suppose 😂
When are we going to look around and do something about it?
We must prioritise arming the police.
Police officers should be able to come to work and have the means to defend themselves.
They should not have to hide from lunatics who are more armed than they are.
Look at the most recent examples, one police officer almost lost their hand/arm! Should never have happened, that police officer could have dealt with the crazed person in seconds.
Many other countries have armed police in Europe.
The suspect was seen wearing a blue gambeson and a metal cuirass. He was seen running away swearing in French. A team of longbowmen has been dispatched to apprehend him.
Is murders the new norm now? It seems like every day something mental is happening
Where are all the comments about the suspects ethnicity. These racists are very selective about their comments.
Time to ban crossbows I guess, because that’ll help.
They’re going to blame this on Khan on my local NextDoor network.
Unpopular opinion, but I’d like to see police officers routinely armed. Second time in a few weeks there’s been an officer seriously injured by a violent criminal.
I was a police officer til I took an arrow to the knee
