Hello fellows Belgian. Today I read an interview from the Walloon Health Minister Bénédicte Linard.
In this interview she told the journalist :

I’m deeply shocked by her claim that vaccination of youth will not decrease hospitalisation of adults considering that multiple studies have revealed how children drove the pandemic.

Considering the still large vaccine scepticism in Brussels and Wallonia, I think it is not wise for an health minister to spread such false information. Am I overreacting ?

Vaccine protects first the people that get it. So by giving it to adult instead of a kid, the overall result is better. Still, better to vaccinate kids than vaccinate no one.
Your translation/paraphrasing into English is slightly off, but it has a large impact on what is actually being said. The translation/paraphrasing should be closer to something like this: “vaccinating children does not mean adults will no longer end up in the hospital.”
They didn’t make any statement about there being no decrease due to children getting vaccinated, they simply said it won’t fully eliminate adults from ending up in the hospital. Which is true.
