Russia claims capture of five villages in northeast Ukraine • FRANCE 24 English

the incursions took place in two locations along the northern border the Ukrainian Russian border one very near to the town of V Chans which you mentioned which is to the northeast of harv and one pretty much due north from harv City and there this morning Ukrainian military sources reported that the Russians had renewed their attacks and were pushing further south there are at least four villages in the area that Ukraine officially categorizes as disputed with ongoing fighting um military sources say that really the Russians have taken control of these four Villages and clearly they’re trying to take more so as expected the fight seems to have renewed again um today the Ukrainian military is saying that they um think that um the Russians will open fire in other locations as well in those Northern parts of harke region and goo what can you tell us about the civilians living in in harkee region well um at least I think nearly 2,000 people have been evacuated now from these areas up close to the border of course these are areas that were occupied in 2022 and then liberated by the Ukrainian counter offensive there so when the first wave of fighting happened a lot of people moved away and a lot of homes were destroyed um even then so the areas were already quite depopulated um but there have been civilian casualties from this new wave of fighting the authorities are encouraging everybody to evacuate and laying on buses and transport to get people out of there but there are always plenty of people who are unwilling vchan I think had a population of about 40,000 before The fullscale Invasion now it was estimated before this recent bout of fighting at just 3 and a half thousand um but of those only a few hundred from the town of SL of V Chans sorry um actually agreed to evacuate it’s mostly elderly people who are there poor people who feel like they don’t have anywhere else to go and also in the case of vant which is right up against the Russian border and was always uh trading uh with Russia there are quite a lot of people in that town who have pro-russian sympathies even still now today

Russian forces have captured five villages as part of a renewed ground assault in Ukraine’s northeast, the country’s Defence Ministry said Saturday. Ukrainian journalists reported Friday that Russian troops took the villages of Borysivka, Ohirtseve, Pylna and Strilecha, all of which lie in a militarily contested “grey zone” on the border of Ukraine’s Kharkiv region and Russia. Meanwhile nearly two thousand people have been evacuated from the targeted areas, FRANCE 24’s Gulliver Cragg said, reporting from Kyiv.

The idea that NATO can "defeat Russia" is lunacy, and was predicted ahead of time by actual military experts like Scott Ritter, and Douglas MacGregor.
