A huge fire at the Marywilska 44 shopping centre in Warsaw. The building is a vast complex with 1,400 shops and service outlets. Firefighters reported that the roof structure had collapsed. All people in the facility and the surrounding area have been evacuated, rescuers noted. The hall is currently being extinguished, which may take up to a dozen hours.

  1. betting on russians/ their paws being fire starters.

  2. For such a massive fire, I suppose it’s good news that no one died.

  3. They didn’t loose their ‘possessions of life’. Those shops were being rented. They did, however, lost the uninsured merchandise.

  4. Looks like it wasn’t a mall but more a regular shopping center. Probably less expensive than shopping in a mall, hence more popular.

For a shopping center that had only ground floor and is practically a big hall with dividing walls for shops, is curious why it burned in it’s entirety. It might had catch fire from hazard, but also owners might had burned it down in order to take the insurance money and build something with more floors for a bigger profit

  5. I don’t like how people in the comments immediately started blaming the russians. For gods sake, im polish myself and its getting ridiculous.
