3. Will Redditors Stop bullying India over this now?

   Anyone who followed news outlets focussing on international diplomacy knew this already, ever since the 60 dollar price cap was introduced. Heck, the comments of various US officials explicitly mentioned that the oil price cap was introduced (as opposed to a total embargo) specifically so that non-western countries with significant energy demands could buy oil and keep world energy prices low.

   I am not sure if this fact was not known to the general public and popular media in US and Europe or they purposely and willingly portrayed India as the bad guy, all the while happy in secret that someone was doing the dirty work for them.

   And of course, a lot of Redditors were happy to play along.

5. Looks like the case of sour grapes. US tried its very best to stop India from buying Russian crude oil. But as it failed, they just turned around and said they never wanted to stop India from buying Russian crude oil with Indian Rupees, which Russia is now using to get weapons imported from India.

   Truly that is what US wanted. /s

   Increased bilateral trade & strong defense ties between India & Russia. That is what US truly wanted. /s

    That would remove about a third of the oil from world markets.

    Idk how india helps Russia when the west has been doing business with them even after the annexation of crimea.
