  1. Shame she didn’t do anything about it when she was in the cabinet, eh?

But I’m sure she is completely sincere. /s

  2. Aahh.. Suella’s lovable, soft and cuddly side is coming to the fore (for some reason).

  3. Yeah, okay, some of us know where on the political spectrum pro-population growth policies come from.

  4. She should be the next leader and stay as long as possible.

That will insure that the Tories stay irrelevant after their inevitable defeat at the next GE.

  5. I’m a bit sideswiped by this one. Seems totally out of character. She’s up to something.

I note it says something about means testing for pensioners to fund cancelling the two child policy, which sounds like some other type of cruelty.

The problem with the two child policy is that it’s not in people’s faces. When people have their 2nd child, they need to be told NO MEANS TESTED FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR ANY MORE CHILDREN, SO ONLY HAVE THEM IF YOU’RE SURE YOU CAN AFFORD THEM, with message repeated everywhere you look in many ways. That’s the only way this policy works – to prevent parents from having children they can’t afford.

Right now, all it’s doing is creating child poverty. Because that’s its real objective.

  6. If Cruella had the power, she would have limited it to just one child. She’s just pure cruelty.

  7. Maybe she’s pregnant with her 3rd child?

Ooh. I feel sick just thinking about how that could happen.

  8. Expect all facts and logic to go out the window whenever an article about Suella comes up in this sub.

  9. In fairness to braverman, this is the most batshit mental policy anyone ever introduced and even she can see it. When you have a population crisis where everyone is getting old, introducing measures to increase child poverty and decrease the birth rate is China levels of madness.

It would make more sense to cap pensions to 5 years to save money.

It just felt nasty and divisive from the off…working class breeding too much, there’s your problem.

  10. Haha she is distancing herself from the Tories to join Reform UK.

Haha The funny thing is that Reform UK voters won’t accept her because she is not “proper British“ or snow white.

  11. Starmer 200 IQ move to side with the Tories on the 2 child benefit cap, then he gets the Tories to attack the cap so he can now spring his trap and lodge a bill to remove the cap

  12. Starmer getting outflanked on the left by Suella fucking Braverman on this policy. Absolute lols.

I don’t believe its a genuine position she holds, but he opened himself up to it.

  13. When a anyone slightly on the left questions this policy, you have all the rational centrists crying that the state shouldn’t be paying for people to have kids and this policy is brilliant. The instant a tory questions it then it’s a bad policy. Odd.

  14. Suella, Johnson, Braverman, Truss.

These are the people who put the final nails in the Tory coffin, yet somehow they belive they are the only ones who can save it.

  15. I half expected her to suggest they lower the limit to 1 child and if this causes problems for some families they can donate their now spare children to her so she can use them for her daily bath in the blood of innocents.

  16. The two child benefit limit is half way there. You need to encourage people to stop at two children if possible.

  17. This is shocking to me. I’ve never seen her take a stance that benefits anyone other than herself, so what’s going on? I am skeptical. I think she feels punished by the Tories and wants to appear more reasonable than them. She is playing a political game. I’ve never seen a human bone in her.

  18. I think this is fair. Most people can’t afford a single child. Why should people on benefits have 8 or 9 kids and get rewarded?

  19. Despite the ill feeling towards Suella Braverman, just pointing out the implications here:

If you actively are treating your own working class like the unwashed masses, discouraging them from having children, then expect to make up the gap with immigration…

then you can’t call the “great replacement” a conspiracy theory.

  20. A lame attempts at popularity.

Also, people shouldn’t be having more than two kids anyway.

  21. declining birthrate. people not wanting immigration. I cannot see why this sort of policy would fail.

  22. These stories always make me laugh and prove that these idiots tow the line for the party.

Its amazing how many MP’s as soon as they leave the job come out and say X should happen, or Y should happen. But when they’re an MP, nothing of the like.

These fucks dont care about us, they care about their own personal gain. Just like a job, they dont want to upset those above them so do and say as they are told, when realistically they should be fighting to improve our living conditions.

Until MP’s feel safe speaking out against their own party nothing will ever improve.

Also, she’s still a vile human and this doesnt excuse her as a person, the vile peice of shit she is.

  23. When the pit bulls decide their fellow rats are now fair game ……

  24. Interesting. … Although Cruella is herself a second generation immigrant, she is allied with the far right of her party and a wider pan-European ‘National Conservative’ movement. One of the tenets of this movement is that ‘Europeans’ are not having enough children and should be encouraged to be fruitful and multiply again. Orbán is a leading exponent of this view and Cruella is not embarrassed to be associated with him – and nor are some other right-wing ‘populist’ Tories these days.

Could this be what La Braverman’s new stance is about – currying favour with the pro-(white)natalists?

As ‘Private Eye’ used to say: ‘I think we should be told’.

  25. Is Suella looking to be the next tory to join Labour?

  26. “many parents do not know about the limit when they have their third or fourth child, with single parent families accounting for half of households affected.

Ms Braverman wrote: “As a result the policy has pushed more children into relative poverty and forced more families to use food banks.”

Speaking entirely out of any cost of living crisis impacts at the moment, if parents who currently have two children, are unable to sufficiently plan ahead in either contraceptive or acknowledgement of costs, then it’s the parents to blame, not the policy. Ridiculous that adults continue to have further children, knowing the costs, thinking it’s their right to grants and handouts to see them through.

I say this as a father of two, post snip, having never recieved a penny from the government, but giving them plenty.

  27. Setting out her stall to be leader after the election. She’s been doing that ever since Johnson was deposed.
