I wonder, is there no social housing in countries like Portugal and Italy?
Mediterraneans be like “independent living, que”? Unfortunately though every country has seen this number rise because we’ve all sucked at addressing the housing crisis
Not surprising the average in germany is >24 if it only counts moving out on fully moving out (as in not renting a room during the semester while in uni and then living at home during non lecture weeks) since its not unusual to finish highschool at 19 here now and a bachelors/apprenticeship takes 3 years and many people do a gap year of volunteering.
And in my experience people in my social circle usually started saving up money from their first job before moving out unless they got a job that required them to move or they were in a long term relationship.
I am over 30 and still live with parents. I just don’t have income to rent. Cheapest rent is 2/3 of my wage. And there are probably many people like that.
Other group is like my sister. She left the home when she was 25 and still have address here. Even though she is now married and living in other country.
