I’m sure they will get along with the panthers we have. Also with how people react to vicious dog breeds I can just see the daily mail blast the idea of wild savage wolves roaming out woods streets and alleys
I’d love them to be brought back, but I just don’t see it as feasible.
The public is scared to death of simply bringing back wildcats and pine martins, let alone lynx and wolves. We truly are the most pathetic country when it comes to existing with any wildlife at all.
Everyone here should go subscribe to Mossy Earth on YouTube. Rewilding is fascinating and imo ecologically important for the country. Lots of incredible work documented on that YouTube channel
Stupid idea, who keeps wanting to bring wolves back and what is the benefit?
I think the deer populations need to be culled in Scotland so trees can finally grow again it’s so barren there use to be trees
There’s parts of the UK that don’t have much trees abs that needs to change to bring back ecosystems
This argument always goes the same way.
A bunch of people that live in towns and cities talk about how they don’t see what the fuss is about? And the only possible worry they can imagine is being people scared of getting attacked by wolves on a hike, because they don’t actually think about LIVING in the countryside, just visiting every now and then.
A bunch of people that live in the countryside say they’d rather not have to wolf/lynx proof their gardens, or even entire farms so their pets/livestock don’t get eaten. Farms say no thanks, sounds like a very costly change for them… and will fight against the change with a lot of willpower.
The bunch of people in the cities and towns call the people that will actually face the issues a bunch of whiners
The people in the country say that’s great, but we have far more invested in this, and will continue to argue against it long after the city and town goers get bored of their idealistic view of adding wolves to the UK, so it’s never going to happen.

There you go! All done. See you next month!
The wolf was hunted out of nearly every corner of civilisation. That’s because they’re vicious predators who decimate livestock populations. Whoever came up with this idea of ‘rewilding’ needs a slap…
I don’t know much and haven’t really looked into rewilding at all yet. Sounds interesting but one of the reasons I love hiking in the UK is because I don’t need to worry too much about encountering a wild animal. I don’t know if many of us would know the first thing to do if we come face to face with them 😅
Bring back lynx no worries, they are predators but they mostly leave us alone
Absolutely do not bring back the wolves, they are gone for good reason, we do not have enough ecology to sustain them anymore
As someone who lives in the highlands – fuck all the way off with this shit.
We can’t even handle Badgers and people want to bring wolves back??
They will probably end up being shot by gamekeepers, they are already killing sea eagles. No one cares because gamekeepers work for the uppers.
As long as it doesn’t lead to more Nimbyism I’m all for it 👍
There’s already a very, very small population of wild lynx bred from captive escapees in the 70s.
We destroy so much nature. I think it’s important to have initiatives to introduce wildlife back into our country as best we can.
Given that there’s not been a dangerous wild animal in Britain for at least 500 years I’m not sure our population can be trusted to not be eaten while out in the wild. I dont even trust people to use a zebra crossing correctly.
People complain when other humans have to do animal control, so not only would bringing back natural predators keep their mouths shut, but it would also probably be more effective than just going out and shooting them
