Hi, we were hiking in Austria last week and encountered number of closed hiking routes (like Soleleitungsweg von Hallstatt or Moosbergweg/Silberroith in Gmunden). Do you know about an online map, that would show all the closed hiking trails in Austria or at least parts of it?
I'm thinking maybe you guys are using some local map application, that has these closures covered. Because for example in Czech Republic we use mapy.cz that generally do include info about situations like these. Or when I plan to go to czech or polish side of Krkonose (Riesengebirge) the national parks do have interactive maps showing which routes are closed during given dates.
So if you could give me some hints whether – maybe I'm looking for nonexisting thing. I only found information about the closed routes after the fact on websites of the towns, but not as an overview map.
Thanks

I usually check an app from the local tourism board. Many of these apps are made by [outdooractive.com](http://outdooractive.com), but differ a bit by feature set and monetization strategy. The [alpenvereinaktiv.com](http://alpenvereinaktiv.com) app is also by them and apparently includes information about closed paths.
Bergfex is my go to app for hiking routes, but local closures can still happen (e.g. because of forest work, rock fall,…).
It’s probably best to ask at a hotel or look up something like the tourist info. For example, I live in Gmunden and no idea what the Moosbergweg is supposed to be. Isn’t this what is known as the „Ortnersteig“? Or is it just the lower part of it?
And everyone and their mother goes to Grünberg via „Grünbergbauer“ or „Mülibankerl“ (literally *milk bench*). So it looks like a bit of a planing error.
