I have been using my washing machine connected to water intake valve that is controlled by Oras bluetooth button: after pressing the button, the valve is open for 4 or 12 hours. In my previous old rental apartment I just opened the valve after installing washing machine and left it like that, the water doesn't flow if the washing machine doesn't pull it anyway. Is this some kind requirement nowadays to have valves that close automatically? I don't quite get it why I need to push a button every time I want to do laundry. Especially because the washing machine is installed in wet room already, but my dishwasher for example is installed in the kitchen and doesn't have such smart button to make it work, so even if it's installed due to safety reasons it seems weird.
Anyway, recently after pushing that button it started showing green and then red light. Based on the manual available from Oras website, it seems that batteries in the control unit died and need to be replaced. However, I can not find the control unit. Apparently, it is some black plastic box installed somewhere. Maybe someone has similar system installed at home and could point me where to look for it?

You are supposed to close the valve after every use, the “smart” ones automate the closing process. Insurance companies won’t cover any water damage if you leave it open 24/7 so atleast don’t admit doing that.
The battery box is usually under the sink in the cabinets, squat on front of it and you’ll find it.
