2. Kinda unrelated but Eurovision has basically become an lgbt festival with so many rainbow flags, I support diversity but they kinda overdo it with the lgbt representation, especially the overly sexual and stereotypical gay UK song.

6. I had to to a double take – the EBU banned the EU flag? What kind of bizzarro world are we in?

   EDIT: Banning EU flags is crazy but banning non-“euro” related flags – meaning non- EU, EBU, geographical Europe, or European candidacy – is perfectly fine. Palestine isn’t in the EBU however it would be cool if it was. Sadly, Israel-Palestine is not a European issue while Ukraine is because it is actually in Europe. It is however a humanitarian issue of relevance to us all but the competition is **Euro**vision and the world is full of tragedy yet we don’t see flags for any of those events.

   Banning the EU flag is 100% crazy especially as right now Georgians are fighting for their lives against their own government under the banner of the EU flag. It means something to us all and it is **our** ***flag.*** It is also the flag of everyone in Europe – irrespective of ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. This includes EU citizen with a Palestinian background, a Russian background and it includes Israeli’s and Jews. If anyone has an issue with that then I think Europe isn’t the place for you. The EU flag represents the total antithesis of all of this chaos, pain and death. It represents liberal freedom, democracy, and it evidences the objective fact that no matter what your differences are, and irrespective of what has happened that there are solutions and real peace can be built.

   Europe ripped itself apart and every neighbor invaded the other. Entire countries were broken into pieces, divided into pieces and millions, upon millions of innocent people died. An entire ehtnic population was eradicated yet still, in the end we came together and rebuilt together. If Germany, Poland, France and the rest of Europe could join together in peace then it is possible for anyone else to do the same.

   Israel, Palestine, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia and Azerbaijan should all look at the EU flag and learn its lessons. This includes all of us on the outside looking in. We should expect more from all of these people so banning the EU flag is fucking crazy. That flag is probably the only flag in the world that actually means something transcendent and represents something bigger than all of us.

7. When it was created, it was about music.

   Countries just sent people who represented their nation and their music. It was about artistry. People sang in their language and it made it one unifying tool to get to know each other’s cultures.

   Then came the costumes, the props, the political messages, the english-speaking. And now, it’s just meaningless entertainment that’s not even that good to the viewer, and the way to make idiotic political statements that truly should have no place there. Costly soft power at its worst.

10. EU is the best thing for Europe, I hate it at the same time, it’s massively flawed and there are too many shills out there that have Chinese CCP level mindless following when it comes to the EU instead of critical thinking, especially on Reddit.

    At the same time, they’re absolutely not wrong. What’s horrific is that foreign entities keep pushing out our own fucking flags. They tore down US flags at unies, replaced them with Palestinian flags.

    “You people” that’re part of the far left tribe are paving the way for the other nasty tribe, the far left to rise. Meanwhile us in the middle are fucked either way. This is not okay, this must stop.
