Russia is suffering record losses with 1,740 reportedly killed in a single day as its troops are thrown into meatgrinder assaults in northeastern Ukraine.

Moscow’s forces are pounding over 30 villages and towns in the Kharkiv region after pressing on with a brutal new ground offensive.

Heavy fighting raged along the northeast front today while Ukraine rushes in reinforcements to try to repel the sudden offensive that kicked off on Friday.

Over 6,000 residents have been forced to evacuate as their homes are battered by Putin’s advancing troops, officials said.

Close to 40,000 soldiers and 500 tanks had been amassed along the border ahead of the large-scale ground attack Kyiv had feared was coming for weeks.

  5. Looooooool. Do you actually believe any of that rubbish coming out of The Sun? I remember when The Sun was predicting that Ukrainian troops would be sunbathing on the shores of the Black Sea after conquering Crimea in last year’s great counter-offensive. How did that work out?

    Nothing against Ukraine or the brave Ukrainian soldiers defending their country. But they’ve been very badly let down by propaganda rags like The Sun that present a toxic mix of lies and garbage and refuse to face reality.

  6. Great, if we continue on that trajectory Russia will lose 635000 soldiers per year. If the war continues 10 years, Russia will have lost an incredible 6.35 millon soldiers… That's Putin's concept of increasing the Russian population🤣

  15. The main rule of a propagandist: if you are losing territory, talk about the enemy’s huge losses. Judging by the comments, people believe that the loss counter is flashing in the corner of the screen like in a computer game.

  17. The Sun is and always was a lying rag, Ask anyone in Liverpool. The Ukrainian defences are crumbling but Russia is desperate. Even Ukrainian commanders on the ground state the Russian tactics are, go scorched earth and then advance into the ruins.
