There is no help coming for him. He may have been told about the high-quality medical care department ussian soldiers get. But he knew it was a lie when he heard it. He probably thought that he wouldn’t need medical care anyway because it won’t hit him.
In this moment he was probably sorry for himself – but was he sorry when he killed those who defended their homes and their soil? Probably not.
He realized that this war isn’t just some heroic mission with a bit of looting, raping, genocide, and other things which are considered admirable in russia… For him, this war is over. As is his life. In the end, he sold his life for a few hundred dollars paid out in a practically worthless currency.
No stones will be erected to his memory. He will fall in line with that endless stream of name-less, face-less victims of war, and he will march into oblivion.
He came enterted the world kicking and screaming, and he’s now leaving the world kicking and screaming. It didn’t have to end this way for him, but he made his choice.
