  1. You heard it here folks, you have 24 hours to do drugs and fornicate in front of the portal.

  2. Move it away from our main ~~junkie thoroughfare~~ street?

  3. The technical changes will just mean it doesn’t autofocus on things close up, it’ll be set to a fair distance away so anything brought close up will just be a blur.

  4. My money’s on them erecting a fence, tried and tested DCC answer to all of life’s problems.

  5. Why not put it down the bottom of Grafton Street or up near Stephens Green?

  6. Will it have AI that detects 9/11-based humour and switches off automatically?

  7. A new portal will be erected by the grand canal, and if that fails they’ll create one in ringsend

  8. What we’d like to happen: AI-controlled robots armed with tasers patrolling the area and shocking anyone who misbehaves, as well as the occasional random innocent passer-by, just to keep everyone on their toes.

What will actually happen: A fifteen-minute delay in the live footage so that a single civil service worker can review it and blur out anything objectionable, which of course means the portal will only operate for 37 hours per week, and will be turned off entirely on weekends, public holidays, and whenever said employee goes on leave.

  9. Once again DCC proves far less competent than the average randomer when it comes to planning anything out or spotting the obvious issues.

  10. The whole portal idea is dumb as fuck and a waste of money. But the decision to put it on Talbot St was beyond braindead.

  11. Idk that whole thing is pure comedy to me. What do you expected to happen?! People who are minding their business don’t really care about these things.

  12. Can we have the name of the guy who suggested North Earl St please???

  13. so embarrassing from our side, holding up a screenshot of the twin towers on fire, how offensive and hurtful.

  14. Idiots dont know how to act. Its the closest thing to a holiday abroad those scumbags will ever get

  15. Be kinda funny if they started erecting tents in front of it

  16. Wonder how many Americans are reconsidering their Irish heritage after this lol

  17. We’re not mature enough for something like this. It’s embarrassing. It’s why we can’t have nice things.

  18. Who thought putting this in inner city Dublin was a good idea? It’s a shit hole belonging to the worst Irish society has to offer. Junkies, drug dealers, drunks, feral teenagers. Is this the image we want to portray to our most lucrative tourist market? Bizarre

  19. What did they expect? Without moderation it’s basically just a social experiment to see how people behave in front of the camera. Republic Of Telly used to do a segment years ago where they’d put a camera in different towns overnight to see how people behaved — it had the same results, people flashing their arses and making a show of themselves for their own entertainment.

  20. > Whinge.whinge.should be on the south side

Fuck off, grand where it is. Besides, this city’s too small to ghetoise the scrotes.

  21. It the portal keeps just one New Yorker from visiting Dublin and telling us about his Irish heritage, it’ll be worth it.

  22. Who didn’t expect that to happen? And how was someone so naive allowed to exist.

If it’s destructable, it will be detroyed.

  23. gotta say my least favourite thing about is every bottom feeder saying oh the portal money should be spent on housing, as if a private art installation is part of our housing budget or something hahha

  24. A lot of fun is going to be ruined. I was going to wank in front of it today but now I can’t. My of would have gotten some serious views.

  25. Surely they must have known this was going to happen
