13 May: Clever. Ukrainians Undermine Russian Kharkiv Offensive by Striking in Kherson
today there are a lot of updates from the Kon Direction here the ukrainians continue to create problems for the Russians across the nio river by using every opportunity to win back territory and establish new footholds the latest stunning move by the Ukrainian forces was the liberation of the island of nria nria is one of the largest islands in the Delta of the nipro river Southwest of kerson city and plays an important tactical role due to its location this fact was confirmed by the Ukrainian South Defense Forces spokesman demitro penchuk who stated that there are several important reasons behind this move firstly The Liberation of the island will greatly improve the quality of counter sabotage measures secondly it plays an important part in the Ukrainian strategy in the region to portion Battles by dividing Russian attention from the bridge head in kinki which will offload pressure from Ukrainian forces there thirdly it holds significant tactical importance because it prevents the enemy from approaching Ukrainian positions on their side of the river and it’s the last Island near the enemy’s Shore the first stage of the battle for the island started with the Ukrainian forces using the village of alansa recaptured back in Autumn 2022 during the counter offensive as a starting point from which they crossed the river at dawn using the darkness as cover which can be seen from the published geolocated video of Ukrainian Fighters The Liberation was confirmed publicly by the Ukrainian commander-in-chief General Alexander CI which marked the second stage of the battle for the island Russians tried to surprise ukrainians before their operation was completed with Fierce attacks which started with mass shelling of the islands and continued with attempts to land their forces to engage Ukrainian troops on the ground ukrainians were expecting this and used theight to their advantage by not only moving more troops and supplies to the island but also by targeting Russia forces on the other side of the river with mortar fire and drones in order to disrupt their counterattacks as you probably remember Russians are struggling in this part of the front line due to the lack of electronic warfare capabilities and drones one Russian military blogger called this a fatal problem for their troops in this direction geolocated footage from one Russian Landing attempt confirms this statement a Russian motorboat carrying around 10 soldiers was moving at high speed on the river but was monitored by a Ukrainian surveillance drone shortly after it was hit by an fpv drone which drowned the boat and the impact sent the crew flying into the water the images of the aftermath show an interesting fact how dense the air in the region is and how dangerous it is for both sides to conduct this move across if you look more carefully you can see two other drones hovering above the scene of the successful Ukrainian hit and looking for possible Russian survivors to finish off due to all these high cost attempts by the Russians The Institute for the study of War stated that even though Russian sources claim that the island is in the gray Zone all their attempts have been rebuffed by heavy Ukrainian fire and the attackers are suffering significant losses this situation forced the Russians to intensify their counterbattery efforts in the region with all available means including conducting guided Glide bomb strikes on the West Bank of the Neo River and targeting Ukrainian assets with l drones like in this geolocated video which shows the destruction of a Ukrainian m777 Howitzer this paved the way for the fourth stage of the battle for the nria island a Russian Source claimed that the usual seasonally high water levels are complicating any offensive operations which led to Russian forces training a dangerous approach by using jet skis to reach the island to leverage their Superior speed but this again didn’t lead to any success in the rare cases when they managed to get to the shore they were quickly spotted and eliminated by the ukrainians as can be seen in this combat footage Ukrainian sources report that Russians are losing approximately 115 soldiers every day in their attempt to recapture the island with half of them being killed and the other half wounded overall Ukrainian forces managed to catch the Russians by surprise and liberated the island of Nesta to gain an important tactical position which secured their assure but also allowed them to stretch Russian forces on the other side given the current situation on the front line and the newly launched Russian offensive operation in the harf region the successful Ukrainian advancement in the hon region plays a strategic role The increased Ukrainian activity in this region does not allow Russians to relocate much needed forces from the drrio group to support their offensive in hariv significantly undermining the Russian plans for the summer campaign if you’re against the invasion of Ukraine and you want to support the work that I am doing consider making a purchase in the online store you a supporter here you can find a lot of products I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video, I will tell you what happened on the eight-hundred-tenth day of the war.
Day 810: May 13
Today, there are a lot of updates from the Kherson direction.
Here, the Ukrainians continue to create problems for the Russians across the Dnipro River by using every opportunity to win back territory and establish new footholds. The latest stunning move by the Ukrainian forces was the liberation of the island of Nestryga.
Nestryga is one of the largest islands in the delta of the Dnipro River, southwest of Kherson City, and plays an important tactical role due to its location. This fact was confirmed by the Ukrainian South Defence Forces spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk who stated that there are several important reasons behind this move. Firstly, the liberation of the island will greatly improve the quality of counter-sabotage measures. Secondly, it plays an important part in the Ukrainian strategy in the region to portion battles by dividing Russian attention from the bridgehead in Krynky, which will offload pressure from Ukrainian forces there. Thirdly, it holds significant tactical importance because it prevents the enemy from approaching Ukrainian positions on their side of the river, and it’s the last island near the enemy’s shore.
The first stage of the battle for the island started with the Ukrainian forces using the village of Velykanske, recaptured back in autumn 2022 during the counter-offensive, as a starting point from which they crossed the river at dawn using the darkness as cover, which can be seen from the published geolocated video of Ukrainian fighters. The liberation was confirmed publicly by the Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief General Oleksandr Syrsky, which marked the second stage of the battle for the island. Russians tried to surprise Ukrainians before their operation was completed with fierce attacks, which started with mass shelling of the islands and continued with attempts to land their forces to engage Ukrainian troops on the ground.
Ukrainians were expecting this and used the night to their advantage by not only moving more troops and supplies to the island but also by targeting Russian forces on the other side of the river with mortar fire and drones in order to disrupt their counterattacks. As you probably remember, Russians are struggling in this part of the frontline due to the lack of electronic warfare capabilities and drones. One Russian military blogger called this a fatal problem for their troops in this direction.
Geolocated footage from one Russian landing attempt confirms this statement. A Russian motorboat carrying around 10 soldiers was moving at high speed on the river but was monitored by a Ukrainian surveillance drone. Shortly after, it was hit by an FPV drone, which drowned the boat, and the impact sent the crew flying into the water.
The images of the aftermath show an interesting fact: how dense the air in the region is and how dangerous it is for both sides to conduct this move across. If you look more carefully, you can see two other drones hovering above the scene of the successful Ukrainian hit and looking for possible Russian survivors to finish off.
Due to all these high-cost attempts by the Russians, the Institute for the Study of War stated that even though Russian sources claimed that the island is in the grey zone, all their attempts have been rebuffed by heavy Ukrainian fire, and the attackers are suffering significant losses. This situation forced the Russians to intensify their counterbattery efforts in the region with all available means, including conducting guided glide bomb strikes on the west bank of the Dnipro River and targeting Ukrainian assets with Lancet drones like in this geolocated video, which shows the destruction of a Ukrainian M777 howitzer.
This paved the way for the fourth stage of the battle for the Nestryga island. A Russian source claimed that the usual seasonally high water levels are complicating any offensive operations, which led to Russian forces trying a dangerous approach by using jet skis to reach the island to leverage their superior speed, but this again didn’t lead to any success. In the rare cases when they managed to get to the shore, they were quickly spotted and eliminated by the Ukrainians, as can be seen in this combat footage.

Where are the farking F- 16's ???
Vote for Zelensky. No elections? That is OK. The CIA would vote him in anyway.
I think you should go to front line….your so called motherland needs you most probably…
The russians know ukrainians will do no advance here now.
That boat video is 10 days old, supposedly it ran into a mine.
The Ukrainian Army has moved into a swamp. This doesn't undermine the Kharkiv front. The Russian army is taking villages and drawing Ukrainian reserves to defend Kharkiv while the Ukrainian Army took some water canals in Kherson. The Ukrainian Army is on its heels but anything for hope even if its foolish hope.
Great! Slava Ukraini!
Slava Ukraini 💪💪🇺🇦💪💪💙💛💙💛🇨🇦
You’re so full of shit
What I don’t understand is like in the south .. know there are like 3+ defensive trench lines … but what’s behind that ?? Are they stacked with reserves ? I mean if the Ukrainian army can’t break through and route the Russians this will turn into a WWI grind, and we know how that turns out ..
This update was puzzling to me. Has something changed at Reporting from Ukraine??
😂😂😂😂
🇺🇦💙💛💪🏻
🇷🇺🍽💩☠
and we got a clickbaity thumbnail …
Ukraine should be giving covert air support. If Ukraine now has a small but varied stockpile of air to S2S and A2S systems… can’t we just fly on in and “be the ghosts” of Ukrainian skies
Show us all the footage, not the blurred stuff we are not children..
Your voice is very boring ..
Some of this is rehashed again..
Thank you good sir
3:36 this is how you know it’s not a propaganda channel as they good and bad things that happen to Ukraine. But they are a news/war content channel.
Thorough coverage–appreciated!
I'm hoping for the best but not betting on this part of the Kherson front being a big resource sink yet for Russia. I forget whether it was from RfU, Perun, Ukraine Matters, or elsewhere, but previous coverage of this area has emphasized (like in this video) the obvious difficulty of logistically sustaining any kind of push through the swampy ground and minor water courses, not to mention the obvious big honkin' river. Even if Russia did want to push in, they'd be logistically capped by how much stuff they can physically move on the limited roads here, as they have been since before Ukraine took Krynky.
It would be nice if Ukraine pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this trick, and cuts a swathe deep enough on the left/south bank to push back the Russian envelope of fire support and establish safe-ish crossings or pontoon bridges that won't be bombed to smithereens every few hours. Doesn't seem like going across the river delta will be an easy route for that. They really need to connect to some good highways for that. Overall kind of a hail mary shot. :/
OTOH maybe it can marginally contribute to thinning out Russian defenses upriver, allowing Ukraine to tip the balance somewhere else for a more advantageous bridgehead. Still a bit of a long shot.
I'm betting/hoping that the best shot for Ukraine right now is to repeat their hat trick with focusing down Russia's large scale redeployments of troops and materiel. Sustaining Russia's Kharkiv offensive will cost them boatloads of stuff, and it's necessarily going to get concentrated in railways, highways, depots, and other transportation hubs. It's clear that Russia's tried to preempt this by operating out of the shortest and safest possible logistical route from Russia itself. Just as Ukraine's first counter distraction has been at the farthest and most awkward possible point in Kherson for Russian logistics.
Hopefully the recent relaxation of allied constraints on Ukrainian targeting will help; it may have been spurred by intel about the Russian offensive direction, belatedly setting the stage for Ukraine to be able to do something proactively against the Russian offensive other than just hunkering down and frantically seeking high K-D ratios under withering fire. Which it sounds like Ukraine is achieving, at least — 1700 Russians a day across all fronts?
everybody says "glory to ukraine" but probably isnt fighting for it behind their phone. russia will inevitably win. they might lose a lot. but in time they will win.
4:30 Ukrainian command reports elite kherson units are being moved to the north to counter russia offensive. This front is about to become static and pressure will be relieved for Russians.
Slava Ukraini я сподіваюсь Путін і Росія горять у пеклі
Why was island put back into greyzone?
Jokers😂
heh
Do Ukraine still have troops on the other side of the Dnieper near Kherson? I haven't checked on it for a while.
I come back to this channel every once in awhile to see how y'all are trying to cope
NATO will not rebuild Ukraine if it loses
Alliance Secretary General Stoltenberg believes that if it loses, “there will be nothing to rebuild a free and independent Ukraine”. 🤣🤣🤣
Lol. Lost 200 Square KM in a day, but reporting about minor changes in the area that none of 2 sides able to actually control. Copium does not win the war
Lâu lắm rồi ukraine không tấn công tiếp ở kheson, hướng này quân Nga yếu kém, tấn công chắc thành công
Is this true this time?
Thanks for this important news ! Had not heard about this battle and success by Ukraine
any where else !
Nice propaganda
I though that boat was taken out by a mine dropped by a drone prior?
RU at 484k
Over 1700 last night
2:35 To report correctly; The vessel was not hit by an FPV Drone. The vessel was destroyed by a YaRM Anti-Landing Mine deployed by the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade.
This is great but man the Frontline is becoming a clusterfuck
Slava Ukrayini
Well… it's over. Russians should just quit and go home. It's obvious that Ukis will be in Moscow before the end of the summer.
What happened to the marines in Krynky? What did they achieve?
Why would you fabricate a story for the video at 2:40? It’s a real event that DID happen, but it was an underwater mine that was tripped as the boat went over it. This has me wondering, was it an honest mistake or do you create stories for images and events in your other updates as well? I mean no harm by pointing this out or asking such questions. THANKYOU for all the hard work you do.
The thumbnails have been getting hyperbolic and dishonest lately. And i don't like it.
I cannot believe the Ukrainians can even get guys to cross the river into Krynki, total suicide missions that have wasted thousands of troops for nothing.
UKRAINE ALREADY LOST THE WAR THEY LOSING MORE TERRITORIES TO THE RUSSIANS.
