    (For reference, JFK did this to win his first congressional race. They hired a janitor with the same name as his top primary opponent to confuse voters and split the vote.)

  11. A similar thing happened to Summer Lee when she was first elected.

    Republicans ran an opponent who had the same well-known name as the person who had preciously held the office. Lee won anyway.

  21. This is literally a plot point from the most recent season of Fargo, except there it was a local sherriffs race and there were three duplicate dudes who legally changed their name to match the incumbent.

    A right wing activist who crusades against Democrats just happens to volunteer to run the campaigns of *two* new candidates who have the same name as the Democratic AG who is running for governor.

    Mmmmm nope

    This dude Glen Morgan files hundreds of campaign finance complaints against Democrats just cause he can.

    He leads groups door to door to canvass neighborhoods for illegal voters (i.e. to intimidate black and brown people).

    This Bob Fergusons gambit reads like another “dirty trick” by another Roger Stone wannabe.

    I 100% believe Morgan found these dudes in a phone book and duped them into this.

    Lock him the fuck up.

  25. Florida GOP did this. I forget the exact name, but they put a guy named VERY similarly to the Dem candidate on the ballot. Was like Angel Rodriguez vs Alejandro Rodriguez. When the news contacted the fake candidate he admitted he was paid to put his name in the race and had no intention of campaigning or anything.

  36. The republicans best hope to take back the governor seat in WA is Dave Reichert but the party would prefer to put forward, endorse and support a looney-tune, Trump bootlicker like Bird.   It’s almost like they WANT to live in Bob Fergusons WA.   

    There’s a lot of middle-ground folks in WA that otherwise vote D only because of how insane the R choice is.   A centrist R is the ONLY way to snatch the gov seat and it’s the one thing the party will never do.
