Note: This data only includes prize money from tournaments. In some games, most of the earnings come from salary, sponsors etc. (which often isn’t public information) so the data is a bit biased towards games with a lot of prize money in them.
Russia rich … finally
So top 10 is all Dota players?
First Starcraft player is 120th ;(
Benefit of cold weather in the north is they end up indoors 24/7 so get way more playtime than everyone else who actually have a life /s
Dota 2 :-()
Og det var Danmark! Og det var Danmark! Åle Åle Åle
damn dota and lol bumped the numbers.

so much changed since the last time i was following esports
I can’t see the word “esports” without imagining my grandma saying “sports” in her Argentine accent.
yo where’s jankos tho
A topical joke from Russia: “Son, stop studying, go play a computer game.”
It would be interesting to see how the winnings are distributed. I can imagine that it’s very skewed for Denmark and Finland as opposed to Sweden due to Dota 2. 5 swedes won TI3 which had an incredible low prize pool compared to later TIs.
It would also be interesting to see distribution by game for each country as well.
Crazy how LoL is so popular considering how little they make compared to DOTA2 players.
I’m sorry Norway, you cannot into Nordic anymore. Eesti can now.
Och spelar lite dota
Ukraine stronk
STOP DOING MAPS THAT USE DIFFERENT SHADES OF THE SAME COLOR

Update to the maps I posted in [2019](https://old.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/cxtz91/esports_prize_money_won_by_european_countries/) and [2018](https://old.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/9v2xxp/esports_prize_money_won_by_european_countries/). I didn’t update this last year, because several LAN tournaments were cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic.
