  1. That’s legit really cool! But uh…

    >And while there have been a number of wholesome moments – including Irish dancing and even a proposal – a handful of people have behaved “inappropriately”, Dublin City Council has said.
    >

    >Videos on social media have shown people on the Irish side flashing body parts, and displaying images of 9/11 and swear words on phone screens.
    >

    >A woman was also escorted away by police after being seen grinding against the portal.

    Wtf, paddies?

  2. “the Portal was unveiled in north Dublin, facing O’Connell Street”

    That explains it

  3. haha 😀

don’t chicken out, let them see the real Dublin 😀

  4. What did they expect? Put it between Sweden and a Germany and maybe it could work

  5. We got one in Vilnius and Lublin. And well, there might have been some incidents but no serious and it wasn’t shut. Well, it needs a right place I believe.

  6. Dubliners are more inappropriate than New Yorkers? What happened to New York

  7. Honestly, everyone in Ireland knew this was a bad idea as soon as we heard where they were putting it….one of the worst streets in the city.

  8. Which of these things was unexpected and not entirely predictable? I’m confused. Neither of these cities are sleepy small towns after all.

  9. Dublin is full of mad lad messers, New York is full of attention seekers. Leave it up as is and where it is and let chaos reign.

  10. If anyone has the video of the Irish lad just openly doing lines of coke while the New Yorkers watch on…. please link

  11. Yeah, putting it in that bit of Dublin wasn’t exactly a high IQ move

  12. These portals are a nice idea, but the timing is incredibly poor, especially considering that Ireland has a very dim view on the US and it’s support of genocide ATM in Palestine right now.

Relationships will heal over time but this is a massive faux Pas on the portal creators part.

Like it or not, the US is not really flavour of the month right now, and it probably won’t be for a while.

  13. The same country that has been one of the loudest voices and staunchly against Israeli terrorism sure love to taunt New Yorkers about 9/11. I guess values waver.

  14. Boo. Ruining a great thing cause it has some flaws

  15. The shit i have seen of it is a lot more tame than I expected tbh

  16. Yeah apparently the Irish kept showing images of 9/11 and I then I guess New Yorkers started posting tictoks making fun of the Irish potato famine. So the goal of making people feel closer despite distance was uh…unsuccessful.
