It does not matter for what reason this transfer is done. But Russias open embrace of this tactic is brazen and frankly unprecedented- say what you want about the US and other superpowers in previous conflicts, the US was never celebrating the forcible relocation of Iraqi children into the US. There was no “department of children’s rights” created to oversee this- these are things unique to Russias genocide of Ukraine. An explicit acknowledgment that many openly celebrate- despite the fact that this falls under what Russia, and the USSR previously, acknowledge as a genocide, verbatim, full stop.
