I remember back in 2015 when Lancashire had an outbreak of cryptosporidium. Turned out agricultural waste ended up in our drinking water and killed quite a few people. It was terrible.
Turns out having webbed hands and feet doesn’t help with waterborne diseases. Remember folks, if people from Devon can get Ill from contaminated water. A normal human can as well.
Maybe reducing water quality standards post-brexit wasn’t the best of ideas.
> SWW advised customers to use their water as normal, and that it would be kept “under review”.
> Sarah Bird, consultant in health protection at UKHSA South West, said more cases were anticipated.
> She said: “At this stage a source has not been identified, and more information will be shared as soon as it is available..
WTF? Whole streets of people and their pets are getting sick.
But I thought privatization was going to be better? /s
It is important at this time for everyone to remember to pay your water bills, people. The shareholders and the board aren’t paying themselves.
This year’s fees will only be going up by a modest 10%.
In a normal country all these directors would be in prison or the people would have taken control of them. We’re so passive here we almost deserve what’s happening to us.
That sounds horrible, I hope that the people going to be OK. You guys(i’;m not from UK) need to do to the streets and show the politicians what you think about them. Start Frenching…
When life gives you lemons, have a local fete celebrating [**”Cryptosporidium Daze!!!”**](https://www.theonion.com/small-towns-cryptosporidium-daze-fails-to-attract-visit-1819565675) Also: **Weight Loss!!!**
I guess they haven’t confirmed a source yet, but I anticipate that this can be added to the column of Wins linked to the shocking amounts of shit in the water, which can be linked to water companies being largely controlled by offshore hedge funds, venture capitalists, and pension schemes.
SWW charges its captive customers more than the UK average for this quality of service.
Just a reminder that it is illegal to cut off a persons water supply in England. You can stop paying your bill tomorrow and they are legally not allowed to cut off the supply.
You will be liable for the bill eventually.
But they cannot cut the supply.
I’m not sure why I might mention that. Seems wholly unnecessary.
