  20. Hmm, just my opinion but I’m not too fond of it, for an official portrait.

    The abusive use of Red really give an aggresive toned to the painting, and the king doesn’t really seems prone to violence, as far as I know.

    From what I can gathering, the butterfly is supposed to represent his transformation from prince to King, and while I understand the idea, I think the composition is rather clumsy, like it was added as an after though.

    What was the overall reception of this painting in the UK ?
