Lots of comments already with /r/CasualUK/comments/1cr8ek5/do_you_know_who_played_the_traffic_warden_in/ and also /r/sheffield/comments/1cr65sv/do_you_know_who_played_the_traffic_warden_in/
Super interesting. It’s so rare for someone who is just an extra/non-speaking role to end up being so prominently featured in the film’s marketing.
But it does happen. If you go over to the Harry Potter sub, approximately once a month, someone will post a collage picture that was used for a lot of different things (puzzles, posters, things like that) where an actor no one recognizes ended up being featured really, really prominently. It turns out that he is just an extra/deadeater who was in a few scenes, and whoever laid that image out wasn’t familiar enough with the film to realize he shouldn’t be featured, and no one caught it.
I’ve always thought he looks a bit like Kenneth Branagh
threads is terrifying it gave me nightmares the first time i watched this at night. There must never be a nuclear holocaust.
I remember watching this as a youngster and was amazed when I visited Sheffield 15 years later it was exactly the same.
I hope this leads to more people watching Threads. It’s one of the most harrowing things I have ever watched. I couldn’t believe the bbc had made it when I saw it about 10 years ago.
It is a masterpiece
This guy did an afternoon’s work as a non-speaking extra, and wound up as one of the most important and visceral images in British television.
King.
