  1. According to article, Microsoft claimed to leave the market in march 2022, but has not done so and remains operational.

  2. So fuck Microsoft, as we used to say all the time back in the 90s?

  3. the year of Linux desktop? (but for reasons no one ever expected)

  4. I’m glad that I’ve haven’t given a single cent of my own money to this vile company in almost 15 years.

  5. So Russian newspaper claims MS is back. Though MS says that is not true. So idk.

  6. Microsoft only knows what you receive/install in your computer with such update.

  7. The title of this post appears to have been edited by u/ilep.

My browser translates the headline to “Russian media: Microsoft software can be updated in Russia – Microsoft denies”.

Removing the attribution to Russian media (“Venäjän media:”) from the start of the headline and the denial by Microsoft from the end (” – Microsoft kiistää”) is obviously unjustifiable editorialising, probably to push an agenda or generate more interest in the post, as well as against the rules of the subreddit.

  8. It never left lol, just did business through proxies.

  9. Why would they stay out when so so many European companies have stayed in Russia, never left to begin with?

That in itself makes no sense to me when the majority of companies on the same continent stayed in.. it’s double standards. And I think Microsoft staying in Russia is a huge win for the US if there are indeed backdoors built into Windows products for the NSA.

But again, why the extreme double standards?

  10. People here forget, that moment war is over half of sanctions will be lifted and most of companies espiccaly American ones will return to Russia.
