On board a humanitarian flight: Injured Gazan children flown to UAE for treatment • FRANCE 24
[Music] about 40 km from Gaza the military airport of alares in Egypt 25 Gins all heavily injured or severely sick are waiting to board this aircraft with at least one of their relatives this is the 17th evacuation flight organized by the United Arab Emirates who bring media along each time Dr mahab Barakat is vice Minister of Foreign Affairs she takes part in every Mission the ones that we have just boarded uh some of them have multiple fractures some of them have amputations we’ve never seen this kind of intensity uh frequency and severity in terms of injuries among those evacuated is 8-year-old NAD musalim she was wounded by an Israeli strike while her family was fleeing from Northern Gaza to seek refuge in the South for 2 months now NADA has been suffering from third degree burns on both legs and an evisceration with 25 of gaza’s 36 hospitals out of service NADA couldn’t get proper Medical care or even painkillers her mom nen thought she was going to lose [Music] her two weeks ago her oxygen levels were down her blood pressure dropped and I was told we’re taking her to the ICU you should start praying because your daughter is about to take her last breath but thank God n is still here and it will get better the only thing I want is for her to recover in Gaza one child is killed or injured every 10 minutes according to UNICEF despite their hardships these passengers were lucky selected by doctors in Gaza they’ve obtained medical visas from the UAE with the approval of the Israeli and Egyptian authorities Abu Dhabi already evacuated nearly 700 of the 2,000 children it plans to take for free but this is merely a drop in an ocean of needs through medical evacuations we we can help thousands but with a ceasefire I think you can help hundreds of thousands the United Arab emat has worked tirelessly and around the clock to try and achieve a ceasefire after a long wait the last family stuck at the Rafa border crossing between Israel and Egypt is able to board 3 and 1 half hours later the plane lands in Abu Dhabi NADA is immediately transferred to an emergency unit since October 7th the Emirates have ramped up their humanitarian efforts but there is more to it it than simple generosity one of the first Arab countries to normalize relations with Israel in 2020 the UAE is looking to polish its image abroad but also reassure its population which supports the Palestinian cause at the sh Khalifa Medical Center plastic surgeon Ahmed razza is treating NADA you’re okay he just wants to check your burns on this side he wants to examine you because tomorrow he’ll clean the wounds and change the bandages so you won’t feel so much pain anymore she’s in a pretty bad shape the dressing wasn’t changed for the last 5 days she was fibral started her own antibiotics with transfused blood they are coming with the B injuries with the burns and with the severe traumas I saw the young young patients those they will think that they they don’t want to live after that to support NADA two of her brothers were allowed to join her in Abu Dhabi but the rest of the family is still in Raa I feel safe here but I can’t stop thinking about those who stayed in GZA my husband my other children life over there is very tough the tents the fear the terror the planes flying over our heads n’s treatment should take a while and in the meantime I hope the war will have ended her doctors say NADA should be able to walk again in a few months meanwhile all the family’s expenses are covered by Abu Dhabi the UAE wants to establish itself as a global hub for humanitarian action and a key part of this strategy is this brand new city as the edge of the desert which can accommodate up to 12,000 people 1300 Palestinians are currently living here under Mubarak Alani supervision have here we have the accomodation we have also kitens here here we are providing email every day it’s cing it’s a hotel we call it a hotel especially designed for children with a daycare a school and large playing areas the government also provides a €3,000 monthly allowance to each person we try to give him everything to keep him happy at least they come forget what they saw we need them to feel like they are in the home the gazen stay However can only be tempor as the UAE does not recognize Refugee status we are doing the treatment we hope the W will stop then they can go back safely to Gaza but we don’t have other planning to have him in going home is hard to imagine for 12-year-old Lan Naser after having lost both legs she was among the first to be evacuated in November and is now learning to walk again with prosthetics but her trauma remains intact this is a drawing for Palestine it says Palestine in my heart we cannot forget what happened to us no one could I can’t think about my future I have nightmares about going back to Gaza I wake up screaming I don’t want to go back even sheltered from the war it’s hard to Envision a future for these Gins whose entire lives are now in Ruins
Children are the first victims of the war in Gaza, with over 14,000 youngsters killed, according to the United Nations. Many of them died due to a lack of medical care. In response to this humanitarian crisis, several countries are evacuating children with the heaviest wounds or with chronic illnesses that can no longer be treated. These medical flights take off from Egypt, after the young patients pass through the Rafah border crossing. Our reporters Sophie Guignon and Chloé Domat followed one evacuation flight organised by the United Arab Emirates. The tiny Gulf state wants to take in 2,000 Gazan children for medical care. Warning: This report contains distressing images.

Alhamdulillah. Jazakallah to UAE.
Those poor families this should not be happening!
Send all bills from this war to the Hamas leadership in Qatar
Thank you to president of 🇦🇪 uae……god bless him
Alhamdulillah and thank you to all people who took initiative for this to happen. I just hope that more innocent children will be saved from this war, imagine that there are still thousands more children in Gaza that are in more critical health or worst in near death.
Allahbless all those Govt all those doctores journalists & all thise people who suporthlp the Gaza people.
Helping at this stage is incongruent withe fact that UAE/egypt/and all gulf countries have not proactively cut ties with the terrorist Israeli regime
the enemy is a healer itself 😢
I love UAE for there helping and looking after the needs may Allah help them as I am a kid I will never believe to see such things
Allah protect them
UAE government is hypcrists and worse than the Zionists
I hope Malaysia can send doctors to help too. I want to join. For now they only have opening for specialist.
UAE government want to continue their relationship with israel…. 😢

5:13 a neck brace and yet he still winks and smiles. Palestinians are so strong.

They're better off in UAE
🤡
Blame hamas for this..
UAE has quite an advanced healthcare system.
I pray that these poor Gazan children get the best medical care which they deserve. Ameen
Bless you U.A.E.
We all in UAE what to support UAE and all the Palestine 🇵🇸 Gaza people 🥰🥰🥰
So sad
Poor children
Hope that UAE seeing this massacre first hand will guide them to reconsider earlier decisions to normalise ties with the occupation state.
You give them treatment, shelter, food. They say they don't want to go back. Few days later they want to make your place a new gaza. Good decision not to give them refugee status.
Shame on UAE & other Arab nations!
Shukran UAE, may Allah (SWT) bless your country for helping the sick and injured from Palestine.
What about Israeli kids in Gaza tunnels
UAE exactly which country cos UAE is very big
They Bombed the hospitals and stopped the medical equipment and medicine from going in .
Gaza needs hospitals and medicine
UAE should do this long time ago. Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia what are they waiting for?
Why Singapore and Brunei both rich muslim countries didn't help these Palestine people?
Why after injury, is it not possible to evacuate them before Injury?
Why is hypocrite uae so late?
All you commenter praising UAE this is sick! How does UAE normalise relationships with Isreal knowing how Palestinians getting brutalised for the past 75 years!!
They are doing this out of guilt because the world has woken up to the truth, the truth of harsh reality of Palestinians going through for decades and decades!
Did they get the hostages out? Did they send Red Cross in to check on hostages? Or just future terrorists
it show's something can be done
Jazakallah khair UAE 🇦🇪
Thaks you, good people….. 🙏🤲😭
It's absurd that the Arab countries adjacent cannot take in the Gazans Jordan is 80% Palestinians bt Nop🤷
