So I've been living in Germany about a year and I got this loafers from ASOS. But I didn't know that symbol was taken here as a far-right-military or straight up nazi kind of thing. Just showed the casually to a german friend and told me it was ok but that its usually considered into that political spectrum. But idk, now I don't wanna wear them haha. For my it was just kind of a goth style thing (which it was what I was aiming for) what do you germans think? Should I just return them? Or its not a big deal?(I live in Berlin)

  1. Most normal people won’t care. The Iron cross is still the official symbol of the Bundeswehr, after all.

It’s a german symbol that is way older than the Nazis.

  2. Well, it dependa.

If You are completly using the Gothlook, then Maybe Not.

If You Go to the Beach/any Political Rally or Like Just have them during a Stroll through the City, it MIGHT raise some Eyebrows. Understandable too.

Berlin however is usually pretty chill, when IT comes to clothing, but i wouldn’t recommend wearing them, with the Cross. Maybe they are detachable? Still Look good and Kind regards 🫂
