  1. >Additionally, a source close to the show claims that the incident Yi is referring to happened on camera and involved a fellow actor running or bumping into them and picking them up during a scene where actors were running.

    That doesn’t sound like assault.

That sounds like an action scene and a possible accident.

    >The source did not deny that Yi sustained a back injury, nor did they comment on the cause of any injury. They did dispute Yi’s allegation that their request for workers’ compensation was denied, saying that the studio assisted them in receiving payment from the third party in charge of workers’ compensation and that Yi is actively working with that party to receive additional payment.

This reads like a non-story that someone is trying to turn into a scandal.

  2. > Yi expanded on the issue in a second Instagram post depicting text messages with a “Chinese Medicine doc,”

This is how I can tell someone is a nutjob, if they actually believe in that holistic shit.

There’s a whole part of my family that is deep into conducting the scam of “traditional Chinese medicine”, acupuncture, qi, etc. One of my relatives even decided to sell smelly liquid as a spray that healed bruises, put his face on the bottle (he’s a plump Chinese guy), called himself some stereotypical Chinese name. It sold well to lots of stupid people.

    **It’s all bullshit.**

  3. Yi is a bit of a headcase. I remember, sigh, them randomly blaming actors like Bill Hader and Seth Rogen for enabling James Franco’s behavior. Like it was their fault.

  4. Hasn’t she had some issue before? I’m worried she’s crying wolf

  5. This lady seems to be a person who *really* wants to be a victim.

  6. Just looking for a reason to whine and cry by the sounds of it. Typical tiktok millennial

  7. She has said this three or four times now on various projects. I dont ever want to accuse the victim, but at this point the credibility is waning and detracts from more legitimate issues of the same nature in the indusrty

  8. She sounds like she is trying to turn it into something way out of proportion to what was probably just a mishap on set.

  9. I can’t stand this chick. Loathe her.

I have a hunch Charlyne Yi will never work a day in Hollywood again. If you’re constantly pointing fingers every production, you’d have to be an idiot to hire a person like that.

  10. I am confused. Time Bandits? The 1980-something movie where Sean Connery was still kind of in his prime?

  11. I only see this person’s face when they are accusing someone of something.

  12. Why does that headlining photo look like a student’s picture from their school’s picture day?

  13. She’s full of it; she’s the girl who cried wolf.

Everywhere she goes, there’s incidents – if she smells shit everywhere, she probably has shit on her.

    Stop casting this liar.

  14. I think the point that a lot of people are missing is that this wasn’t just one incident or accident like the nameless person on set mentioned, it was over a period of time both during rehearsals and filming, and even after Charlyne had seen the on set doctor, this person continued to do this.

Charlyne making this publicly known is not just so the person is held accountable, but so producers and the studio are held accountable, and to draw attention to a very serious issue. They make very valid points that the power dynamic and the “you should be grateful for being on such a big production” attitude is a big problem that should be given attention. An actor’s safety and mental well being, (especially lesser known ones like Charlyne), are not considered at all when there’s a film/series to be made.

I’ve followed Charlyne on Instagram since around 2017, and I truly don’t believe that they would throw around phrases like “making me want to commit suicide” without honestly feeling that way. Regardless of what happened, Charlyne WAS injured and they were dismissed and their complaints and concerns were not listened to, and that’s a serious problem within the industry.

I can’t quite believe the gross comments I’ve seen about Charlyne making previous statements about people that harassed and assaulted them as being a “liar” or this being a “pattern” for them considering David Cross openly admitted to his shitty racist comments and James Franco and Marilyn Manson are KNOWN abusers. I truly don’t believe Seth Rogen could know, work with, and be friends with James Franco since approximately 1999 and have ZERO idea of what a creep he is (especially when you consider that Busy Philipps has said that James was abusive even back then during the filming of Freaks and Geeks), and Charlyne was right to hold him accountable too. Enabling this kind of behaviour is undeniably a huge issue in any industry, but it’s particularly rampant in the film biz.

  15. I can’t put my finger on it but she has a really irritating face.

  16. The amount of people misgendering Charlyne in these comments is depressing. Whatever you think about them and this case, it’s not hard to use the correct pronouns.

  17. What is up with the over the top inflammatory rhetoric in here? It’s one thing if you don’t care for Yi or don’t believe what they’ve said happened but misgendering, slurs, violent rhetoric about someone I’m pretty sure nobody in these comments has ever even met is really uncalled for.

Can folks not find a more effective way to express themselves than this? Pathetic.

  18. Charlyne and who else is the headline referring to when it says “they”?

  19. a nobody d-list actor in Hollywood wants to be relevant and craves attention, even if it’s negative. happens all the time, the situations and context just change. at the core it’s still the same negative, attention seeking behavior that we have all witnessed at some point in our lives from someone we know. it sucks that it’s under the guise of victimization but that just happens to be the conversation currently so that’s how these people present themselves.
