Love to see it!
This is how it should be done.
But that’s communism!!!

This way they don’t need to give raises
Staff are lovely (even to us economy class scum). Glad they are getting bonus.
This is how capitalism should be done.
Make money but give back once you’re rolling in dough.
another reason to continue to give them all my money. they’re repeatedly the cheapest best option for most flights i’ve taken for years
*Cries in American*

Nice! Way to motivate your staffs.
US airlines are too greedy to do this type of crap lol
Singapore got me home when QANTAS decided to stop giving a fuck about Australians.
I will always support them for that alone.
They have a quality airport with excellent staff I wish I could say the same about Australian airports but they are atrocious.
I’m not trying to be negative on this issue. I agree that a company should give back to its employees, especially when profits are good.
But this article does not cover the finer nuances of this matter. I know a member of the flight crew, and their perspective is slightly different.
Flight crew (arguably the most critical workers in an airline) pay consists of basic pay, flight allowance, hazard pay, etc. most of their income comes from the allowances that only kick in when they actually fly. When they do not fly, they only get basic pay, which is only slightly above minimum wage.
This 8 month bonus is only basic pay 🤣. It’s a sweet deal, but nowhere as awesome as you might imagine from reading the headlines.
The back end airline executives on the other hand… They get 8 months to their entire pay package and are laughing their way to the bank.
Once again, I’m not shitting on the airline for giving a good bonus, but you all need to know that the critical workforce of the airline are actually getting the least amount of bonus.
Peace.
This is pretty cool. Shame more compaines won’t do it. Would be good for the country overall
SG’s airline and airport are both top-notch.
I love this as this will encourage the Scoot crew to work better – so one day they can get a promotion to work in SQ.
Living in Japan Singapore Airlines are the only Airline I will use. Fantastic service, decent food and a reasonable price, also stopping in Singapore is a massive bonus and I love a long lay over there.
I always give the air crew some sweets and gifts when I board. I highly recommend Singapore Airlines, even if you only fly once.
But… But… *But… What about recurrent shareholder value? Won’t anyone think of the shareholders?!*
Singapore Airlines is one of the best I’ve flown. Between them and Qatar I have no incentive to give Qantas my money when flying internationally
Price gouging
Highly respectable act. Sadly the companies in the west are complete opposites with greed. They would just increase the salary for the multi billionaire CEO’s and fire hundreds of workers instead to maximize profits.
Best airline I’ve ever been on.
Title this under “Things that would NEVER happen in the US”
But nobody wants to work anymore. In the west.
Gee I wonder why…
In America the stockholders would sue for wasting money that should have gone to the owners. And they’d take out an ad in Wall Street Journal complaining about how much the employees were stealing from their employers.
