  1. “In response, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust (THST) have told The Athletic that they would be happy to set up a meeting with Postecoglou to explain the context around the rivalry with Arsenal and why the feelings run so deep.”

    Tinpot from the top-down

  2. “Hi Ange, thanks for coming today, we’re going to outline why we want Spurs to lose more than we want them to win”

Go for it, won’t piss him off at all

  3. I hate Spurs more than any club but it’s crazy how everyone is blaming their fans

Ange has lost the last 5 out of 6 games, played a stupid high line with Vicario in the 10 getting slapped up the whole second half of the season after teams figured him out. Bottled top four after being top of the league, but he’s got the audacity now to blame all the fans?

This guy is becoming more unbearable by the day

  4. This quote is gold:

*In response, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust (THST) have told The Athletic that they would be happy to set up a meeting with Postecoglou to explain the context around the rivalry with Arsenal and why the feelings run so deep.*

So the supporters trust want to educate the manager on why losing a game to spite Arsenal was more important to fans than securing CL football.

  5. As I understand it the video of him
Lambasting that fan was because the fan called him out on not being so animated throughout the other losses they suffered. He got ejected.

Tottenham got found out. Even MOTD called it when they said because Tottenham never go long you can put your whole team in their half on their goal kick. Which makes it incredibly hard to get past.

His suicidal high line is cannon fodder for bigger teams. Thats why they lose them all. Apart from that hurrendous VAR decision.

He needs to change. This ain’t Scotland where only one team with have a chance to beat you.

Remember that Chelsea game. They are down to 9 and he puts their defensive line on the halfway mark.

I get it. He does not want draws but stupid tactics are stupid tactics.

Onto the Arsenal match. I’m sorry but Arsenal fans are being ridiculous. They didn’t mind Tottenham being shit when they rolled them over. Yet suddenly they are not allowed to lose against the Juggernaut’s

Ange allready said his team were not ready for CL. Look how it hurt Newcastle.

  6. Can’t read most of the article due to paywall.

Anyhow, as far as I got, it is utterly disrespectful to a club from their fans wanting to lose so that a rival can’t win. In effect they seemed to have been pissed that the match wasn’t fixed.

This is so bonkers that it beggars belief.

  7. He’s right in building mentality for the long term, but in honesty he could have stopped it from getting to a point where the fans had to rely on a loss, so that their bitter rivals didn’t win the league. They could have performed and stopped them at Home.

  8. Swear the only people upset about it are Arsenal fans.

Should’ve beat Villa at home lads

  9. The thing I feel is getting missed is the feeling that spurs backed ange through both times he’s gone through a terrible run of form in the season and the one match some spurs fans wouldn’t mind losing is the one where he decides to change things.

People wanted vdv at left back and dragusin to start and he tried Emerson and skipp for multiple games. People wanted a new tactical approach and he played a hybrid formation with Maddison and sarr rotating as false nines.

If the arsenal thing wasn’t boiling in the background a lot of spurs fans would be excited about next season based on what they saw against city.

I think most people are still on board but his vague press conference has let agendas run amuck.

Do I think he’s walking? No. Do I think spurs fans will turn on him? Also no. Just a less than ideal situation

  10. It’s just a storm in a tea cup. Maybe don’t go on a run of defeats and create pessimism in the first place, Ange was too late in making changes and set a precedent of pessimism going into the CL run, spurs fans had no belief in getting CL due to the performances of Ange’s team at the end of the day. We beat Villa 4-1 at their ground, if we sustained that momentum this never would’ve been a debate, but his team have bottled it and he has to take some blame. Spurs fans are rightly cynical and self deflationary as it’s a coping mechanism due to the poor results and constant let down of the people we pay to do a job, owners, coaches and players.
