Hi, now that EU Blue Card for Finland has reduced salary requirements ( least EUR 3,638 in 2024), I was wondering if it's worth switching over to Blue card. I currently hold Residence Permit for special expert and would be eligible to apply for renewal/extension in few months.
I noticed it says here "An EU Blue Card issued by Finland gives you the right to work only in Finland." I thought being able to work across EU was the whole point of getting a Blue Card. Are there other benefits or considerations that I should look at?

I’m in the same situation.
curious to see if anyone can answer this.
I dont know how this works with specialist permit but this caught my eye;
“If you have been granted an EU Blue Card by Finland, you can move to a second EU Member State. If this second Member State does not grant you an EU Blue Card, you can return to Finland. You may stay in Finland for three months even if your Finnish EU Blue Card has expired. “
As far as I can tell, very little. When you get an extended permit, the EU blue card is only issued for 2 years, instead of 4 for the specialist permit, so it is worse at that stage.
