  1. It’s a slow worm! I legless lizard. They’re a protected species 🙂

  2. I love slow worms, but havent seen one in the wild since I was a kid, 50 years ago.

  3. Slow worm. Harmless, and not common. I think they are protected for that reason.

  4. Unfortunately cats tend to go for them. We live in Surrey hants border and they are a relatively common sight. The baby ones are a beautiful copper colour

  5. Love a slow worm, they are fantastic creatures. Absolutely harmless.

  6. I’ve seen about a dozen posts like this – it’s slow worm mating season.

  7. It’s slow worm bunga-bunga party season so you may see even more

  8. Is not danger noodle, is frien.

Do not harm, keep cats away.

  9. I’ve only ever saw one and it was in the Midlands. When it fled it detached its tail.

  10. No snake in the yard, just a slow worm in the garden and he’s freaking awesome, they’re also a protected species so I hope you left him alone

  11. You’ll have to give the snake a name. How about … Rishi?

  12. That’s a baby Anaconda, it will bite your face off … or it’s a slow worm one of the two

  13. One thing I have seen in london is people freaking out incredibly about animals that are so common. I remember once a cat was meowing loud on the street and one girl crossed to the other side because “I am very scared of cats” and I was very confused, but this reaction to common reptiles also baffles me.

  14. It’s a slow worm (a legless lizard, NOT a snake) – they’re also very good for your garden and very rare. Feel blessed!

  15. Nah just a leg less lizard. Don’t worry 😉

  16. This guy is famous on our humble sub, we’re going to have to give it a name.

  17. Slow worms are cool. I found one in the garden, except I had no idea it was there until I looked down & it materialised between my feet.

My brain did the [Snake Detection Theory](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_detection_theory) thing & I jumped a mile in the air. My monkey brain thought it was a snake. They can make you jump but are harmless
