been visiting scotland for a couple weeks and been searching for an eagle, saw this big bird today but not sure what it is, maybe an osprey?

  1. A bit blurry but I’m pretty sure that’s Wee Stevie.

  2. Depends on where it was taken. Looks like from Saughton, but not sure how you smuggled your potato in to take that.

  3. Where was the photo taken as in, countryside, outskirts of town or coastal?

  4. I think it’s Osprey, where was it? Any other details?

  5. As a keen wildlife photographer I’m just gonna grab my bird recognition book 😁

  6. I’d say it’s a male hen harrier, not an osprey though the colours match either. The wings look too short and too curved and the tail looks too long to be an osprey. Having said that the wing markings look a bit osprey-ish. How big was it? They’re both big but ospreys are a touch larger. My money is on hen harrier overall though. Round Loch Lomond you could get either.

  7. That’s a brown tipped walloper native to only Castlemilk

  8. It’s called a Fiona Harvey Eagle. It’s currently hovering stalking its prey.

  9. I’m not too sure but this may be a seagull covered in curry
