Davies can really imagine staying at FCB for the next few years. That also has to do with the fact that Real aren’t really moving for him. From the player’s camp, it is said that staying is also an attractive outcome. The player has yet to make enough concessions regarding his salary demands

    He noticed that Real’s interest cooled down, then he suddenly started to post a whole lot more Insta stuff of him in Bayern kits after being relatively quiet for months and now he can imagine staying and it would be such a great outcome as well.

    If he ends up staying, signs a reasonable contract, and actually plays well I’m sure I’ll eat crow. But it’s hard to forget this season.

    Davies was mentally checked out and spending time browsing real estate in Spain instead of focusing on his level of play at Bayern and clearly didn’t seem motivated to play for Bayern anymore. I get that not everyone will be totally Mia San Mia and be blood and guts about fighting for the badge but Davies could barely be bothered to do his job. That’s not the mentality I want at Bayern and I think we should try and fleece an EPL club into overpaying.

  7. As a fellow Canadian, I have my love goggles on for him, but also need to look at it objectively as a Bayern fan first.

    I think it’s in our best interest to renew his contract, get a solid good year of performance out of him similar to the 19/20 season, and then put him on the market next summer.

    I think we all know that he’s a lonely here and that his morale isn’t the greatest. Realistically, I don’t think anyone can see him being here for the long term. Getting maximum value out of him would be in our best interest.

    We used to have a pull back then, even players from Real Madrid were coming over to Bayern

  10. Really, really unlucky for us. We have to sell him, i doubt he will change his shocking form if he stays.

    He made his decision, his head was in Madrid the entire season and now this…

    Theo would be so much better, the only positive i could see is having Maz and potentially Aznou as a safety net.

    He will be another player who earns way too much, a LB version of Gnabry.

  12. the everyone in this thread trashing davies, he’s 23 years old with his best season coming at 21 years old. his best football is ahead of him and if we can manage to get him back on reasonable wages i’ll be over the moon. he hasn’t played like a world class left back but he has the potential to be the BEST left back. i’ll be very happy to have him back and for him to EARN his playtime

  13. I can’t hate him, he’s a young guy, it wouldn’t surprise me if this clusterfuck coaching carousel put him off the club, he’s also ambitious and how many players don’t want to go to Real.

    We can’t expect every single player who signs for Bayern to have Thomas Müller levels of loyalty. If Real not pursuing him gives him a reality check and he commits to the club once again I will welcome it, hopefully he can regain his form.

    A lot of people seem to forget that this is his job, aside from guys like Müller, Bayern is JUST their current employer, and just like we do in our own careers, they want to go where their interests take them(and usually for more pay, that’s totally normal).

  17. Personally I put most of the blame on his “agent” aka the guy that discovered Davies as a kid and has leached off of him since. He became an agent because of Davies and knows fuck all. He needs to find a real agent, this poweplay was a massive backfire and could end up hurting his career
