The thing is, even changing the language from child porn to images of child abuse doesn’t seem to have the hoped-for effect, that people would understand that it’s not just pictures from someone’s imagination – small children are abused to create those images. While there is the argument that when violent images of adults are viewed, the adults are paid/consent in some form (not always true and very self serving justification, to my mind), even that partial defence cannot be made for these images.
Accessing this kind of material should be an absolute custodial sentence. As a society, this is something we’ve got to take seriously and be seen to take seriously.
Strange that the judge allowed his address not be shared, assuming he still lives at home or something?

Subhuman scum. I hope this follows him for the rest of his life. I went to school with one of these beasts, 1200 odd images, another suspended sentence. I made sure that everyone for miles around knew what he had done and when he moved I made it my business to inform his new neighbours.
