Cannes Film Festival: How Adam Driver decided to delete a scene from Coppola’s epic ‘Megalopolis’
[Music] Adam did a beautiful performance but he also was very helpful in the editing of the film of deciding what should be in the film and what should be out of the film I’m sorry Adam but did you really say Mr Copa man not this in yeah yeah and and great great editorial ideas came really great that’s what it was like on set it felt like experimental theater and that’s what made it feel rebellious and exciting and I think it’s reflected in the film I I don’t think that there’ll be something uh that imaginative on that scale you know again I do think it’s a one-of-a-kind thing that will be dis I’ve seen it a lot of times and last night it it really moved me and I saw it in a different way than I than I had you know before and I think it’ll just get richer and richer
Francis Ford Coppola faces the press Friday after his epic “Megalopolis” sharply divided critics at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. He explains how his team participated in the editing of the film – particularly lead actor Adam Driver who decided to delete a scene. “Megalopolis” had been the most anticipated film of this year’s festival. It is one of 22 films in competition for the Palme d’Or.
