A 1C increase in global temperature leads to a 12% decline in world gross domestic product, researchers have found. Capitalism is failing itself, capitalism is destroying the climate,capitalism is killing us.
The economy is a subset of human society which is a subset of ecology which is a subset of environment as a whole.
There is no economy on a dead world. Money is a useful fiction but environmental damage is a real thing with real consequences.
