I miss Camden back in the day when it was authentic. The punks, the goths, the variety of unusual shops etc gave it real character. I still like Camden but it’s lost a lot of its soul now.
I miss the old London in general. Less crowded, more of a community, less litter, more diverse in the sense of class.
I still like London but it used to be so much cooler back in the day.

That filled me with nostalgia.
I went to Camden every other weekend from the mid-90s to the early 00s. Me and my friends used to bunk the train from Essex quite regularly (easier to do when it was still the old style BR cars).
I stopped going some years back as the last time I went, it broke my heart a little. It’s not the same and it’s someone’s else’s Camden now.
This is the cycle: Run down area > art types > creative industry types > Spanish > tourists > Essex.
Camden is approaching the last stop.
