Max Eberl and Christoph Freund made massive efforts to keep Thomas Tuchel at the club, but ultimately lacked support from the very top. Tuchel rejected Bayern's offer on Wednesday evening. On Thursday the club tried to change his mind with a few concessions, but that didn't convince him. Eberl and Freund had promised Tuchel a new 3-year contract, but that did not reflect in the concrete papers that were presented to him on Wednesday. Tuchel had the impression that the big bosses sent Eberl and Freund to negotiate with him, but didn't give them enough power to act

Eberl and Freund were not involved in the decision to part ways with Tuchel in February. In this respect, they could have started again with the coach in the coming transfer summer without any burdens. However, the club's big bosses, who made the decision, had trouble admitting their mistake in retrospect. The supervisory board was in favour of continuing with Tuchel only for one year. Tuchel did not want that

    I really don’t get it anymore (not that it matters, but still) They don’t have a better option (they don’t seem to have any option) and they want to reach the cl final next year…sure.

  11. Called it when the shitshow kicked off – Uli is using Tuchel as scapegoat, because Tuchel eere publicly commented on the (bad) transfer strategy being imposed on him aka no CM help.

    Fast forward and turns out that Tuchel’s assessment was correct but since the old geezers are too stubborn and arrogant to admit a mistake, they just go on blaming it on the coach.

  31. Massive loss for Eberl and Freund and massive loss for the club. It’s clear who runs this show and it’s quite honestly disgraceful and utterly disappointing. I have zero trust in how the run is club at the moment and am now very pessimistic about its future.

    There’s too many cooks in the kitchen with conflicting agendas and you can see by how information is likely leaked to the press from various parties to undermine each other how disconnected they really are.

  38. I vividly remember all the “Tuchel raus” comments and just the pure rage at the coach around here. Some people, including me, always said that there is much more to this shitshow and that the board is to blame aswell.

    And now it turns out that everything we said was completely true. We can blame Tuchel for some horrid tactics and whatnot, but what the board is doing here is club suicide.

    Uli is a decrepit old fool at this point. Every coach says no to us, Eberl and Freund want to keep Tuchel, the players want to keep Tuchel, but Uli badmouths him in interviews and overrules everyone. Get fucked Uli. It’s time to retire.

    All the “Festgeldkonto” comments over the last few years, all the comments against fans, all the nonsensical interviews. It has to end. Get rid of the man already
